Edge Rushers Position Eligibiity

Postby Big Greezy » Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:22 am

Anyone have a good way to figure out how these players will be listed? I'm on ESPN and feel I keep getting bit in the butt when they switch from DE to LB. (Current classification)

Josh Allen (DE)
Montez Sweat (LB)
Jachai Polite (LB)
Jaylon Ferguson (LB)
Oshane Ximines (LB)
Ben Banogu (DE)

Any idea if some will switch or how to predict this? Not much value in my league if LB but good value if DE.

Looks right for now barring any potential scheme changes. Know the Jags have vehemently denied switching to a 3-4 after they took Allen. Banogu was just confirmed as a DE after OTAs. The others are all on 3-4s, which willlikely be their designation come the season.

Josh Allen (DE) - probably 50-60% chance he stays as a DE. Jax hasn’t officially changed to a 3-4 but there are plenty of rumblings.

Montez Sweat (LB) - 99% chance he stays as an OLB since Washington isn’t expected at all to change to a 4-3.

Jachai Polite (LB) - 75-80% chance he stays as an OLB. I’ve heard a couple rumors that the Jets will go to a 4-3, but nothing substantial.

Jaylon Ferguson (LB) - Same as Sweat, pretty much no chance he plays DE. Don’t bother rostering him.

Oshane Ximines (LB) - 60-70% chance he stays as an OLB. Not someone who needs to be rostered unless your league rosters 900+ total players.

Ben Banogu (DE) - 70-80% chance he stays at DE. For what it’s worth, Indy has made it clear that he is no longer expected to play heavy LB snaps this year, and will focus on DE. Certainly a chance he switches year to year tho, a la Vic Beasley.

I know there was originally some question (and things could always potentially change) but this blog post, with direct quotes from the Jags D-Coordinator, makes it seems like Josh Allen will definitely be a DE:
