Value of rookie DE in low scoring leagues

In talking about leagues where top 5 DL average scoring 6-8 pts per game. Assume a typical league set up of 12 teams and a starting lineup of 2 DL 2 DB 2 LB and 1 flex

What kind of rookie draft capital are you willing to spend on non-Nick Bosa DEs?

How many points for sacks, tackles/assists? Earliest, a mid to late 3rd rounder.

Tackle 1
assist 0.5
sacks 2

DL1 last year scored about 7 ppg.

To be more specific I'm OTC at 5.02 and I also own 5.03, 5.10 and 5.12.

All non Bosa rookie DL are available, plus Derek Barnett. My only rostered DL are Dunlop and Ogbah.

I was planning on using these picks to shore up my weakish IDP side, but wasn't really planning on drafting DL since they score so low. But with the talent that has dropped into my lap should I dip into the pool for a DE or two?

Or are DE just fools gold in a scoring system like this?

DEs are fools gold in systems like that. As soon as you get one who puts up good enough numbers to be able to sell for a 2nd or early 3rd, SELL

I don't know if it was a good idea or not but I just drafted Clelin Ferrel at 5.12.

Just to land this thing.....

Even with IDP scoring depressed this draft was kind of all over the place.

.

2.09 Devin White
3.02 Devin Bush
3.03 Nick Bosa
3.12 Ed Oliver
4.02 Jonathan Abrams
4.04 Rashad Gary
4.06 Montez Sweat
4.10 Darnell Savage
5.01 Jayon Brown
5.02 Derek Barnett
5.03 Ronnie Harrison
5.04 Chase Winovich
5.06 Jahvani Tavai
5.08 Germaine Pratt
5.11 Josh Allen
5.12 Clelin Farrell
6.02 Josey Jewell
6.03 Jalen Ramsay
6.07 Brian Burns
6.12 Kyle Fuller

Full disclosure.....my picks were Bush, Abrams, Barnett, Harrison, Farrell, and Jewell.

This was an orphan I took over a week or so before the draft and while my offensive side was fairly strong, my IDP side was putrid. Its basically a start 4 LB set up (2 LB and 2 flex) and the only 4 LB on my roster when I took it over were Bobby Wagner, Mason Foster, Karlos Dansby and Derrick Johnson. I got sniped on Tavai and Brown, so I grabbed Jewell over the remaining rookies figuring he was basically guaranteed a starting gig from werk 1. I've got like 10 open roster spots so I'll try to grab a couple more LB once the WW opens.

My DL (Dunlop, AHicks, Ogbah, LJoseph) and DB (Collins, Chung, Sendejo) were a little better but I needed improvements across the board

I feel like I got a ton of talent for a pretty cheap price. Maybe I still overpaid in a league that treats IDP a lot like kickers. I guess ill find out :)
