IDP Free Agency Discussion

Nothing sexy for fantasy purposes, but as a Colts fan, I'm very pleased with our signing of Sheard & Simon. Not super high profile, but instant upgrades at both OLB spots.

Combined less than Chandler Jones. I think both are fantastic signings. Compliment each other well too. Simon is not popular to the average fan but he is very good in all aspects, especially setting the edge. He can play strongside while Sheard can play weak side and use his athleticism to get to the QB.

I really thought Simon did well last year. I picked him off waivers in a league and spot started him. I love the acquisition of him and Sheard for you guys. Mingo should be a good backup/special teams guy too. Do you think they keep Sheard at DE or move him to LB?

For the Pats; getting Kony Ealy and Gillmore are great moves in my opinion. Hoping now that they didn't have to trade Butler for Cooks, they can work a long term deal.

He should definitely move to OLB, he's a natural fit there for our 3-4. We have been using big tweener types at OLB recently, Trent Cole & Walden were both massive dudes.

I love those moves for the colts. Whilst speaking of colts LBs do we think Edwin Jackson drops in as a starting ILB for them I picked him up as a dqwell handcuff and liked him last year.

I picked him up late last season as well. Not sure if he'll make my keeper list, but he looked solid as a tackler. Should probably know more after the draft. I'm stashing him for now. May even try to trade him to the D'Qwell owner in my league.

I find LB such a pain the bleep, the production is "easy" to find on the ww compared to other positions but I love having my team set. I loath giving up too much in the off season for lbs too.

I was gonna comment that DQwell got cut, haha but looks like you got that covered.

There's almost no chance that Ed Jackson isn't a starter to begin 2017. Right now he has the MOST veteran experience at ILB on the team. Yup, you read that right. And he's the only member of the organization to ever play every snap in a game, at ILB.

We only have the 7 draft picks, so as much as we are a team who's likely to draft a least one ILB, it's not a guarantee - we have plenty of holes. And even if we draft a guy, he would most likely start over Morrison, not Jackson.

Has Morrison flashed anything to you Lukky that has stood out? Cant remember a thread where you broke down his play? I have him stashed in a few leagues. His end of the year performance (17 tackles less than Edwin) seemed to improve in those last 4-5 games or so.

I'm not a big fan. It started when we took him in the 4th round last year, which was just silly. He was projected to be a late round or UDFA, a guy who relied purely on "grit" and lacked size, athleticism, & 3-down traits. Thanks Grigson...

Anywho, in the little I've seen from him at this level, he gets pushed around too much in the run game, but unfortunately he also struggled mightily in coverage. He should be a good team's 5th or 6th LB

Minter to Cincy... I don't like it. Glad I don't own any Minter shares. Thoughts?

I like the signings for the Colts as well. I will definitely keep my eye on them as IDP players.

On the flip side: I am curious to see how their RB situation plays out. Lol I am waiting for some back to fall to them that turns into a L. Bell. (Hopeful wishing I know but a RB could land in a very vibrant system with them.)

Sean Spence to Indy, I like!

He has LB2 upside for sure, I wonder if we will use him for all 3 downs...

Bellore to the Lions. Not a super flashy name, but they needed help at the position and he seemed to do ok from a fantasy standpoint last year. What do we think about this landing spot?

I think it's a non-story personally. He's only a name because he was on a historically depleted defense last year. I doubt he gets much playing time other than ST... We shall see tho!
