Post-Combine 2016 Rookie Mock Draft

Postby alewilliam789 » Sat Feb 27, 2016 4:33 pm

So seeing as a lot of the most important drills have concluded I wanted to see where everyone values who and where before the draft. Let's make it 4 rounds, 12 picks per round, and PPR.

I'll start it off:

1.01 Ezekiel Elliot

Bar none the best offensive player in this draft. Talent undeniable and very well rounded for an underclassman workhorse back. Kinda worried about his hands because he didn't look like an absolutely natural hands catcher at the combine, but he did show pass catching chops at OSU. If he lands in the right spot, Dallas, he could become a top 5-8 back right out of the gate. Definitely a RB1 and I will be glad to add him to my cupboard of RBs.
I may or may not be related to Bryan Edwards

1.02. Laquon Treadwell

Still going Treadwell. Nobody else changed my opinion at the combine, and Treadwell not being an elite athlete doesn't surprise me. He is a good football player, and has the ball skills to make a living as an above average WR in the NFL.

1.04. Michael Thomas, WR - Ohio State

Sticking to my board and I've had Thomas at #3 for a while. He's one of the best route runners available, a natural hands catcher, and torches DB's on the intermediate routes. Has a lot of traits you look for in a go-to WR.

I almost went with him at 1.02. The age gap was the tie breaker for me. Treadwell has 2 years to catch up.

1.05 Tyler Boyd WR - Pittsburg

Think he has a case for being the most polished WR in this class.

1.07 Corey Coleman, WR

No way he will make it to the 1.07 after his pro day. 40.5" vertical and 129" broad after his surgery?! He will definitely light up in the 40 in this slow class.

1.09 is go Goff here (or wentz depending on where they land); loved goff on the field at the combine. Wentz, athletically was not as good as advertised when measured - still a good size but we'll see. I'd go safe and goff

1.10 Sterling Shepard. WR Oklahoma

Would be thrilled if he fell this far. Maybe the best hands in the draft and a blooming PPR beast! Thought about Dixon here but have some other running backs I like that may be available in the second. Thought about Fuller, but I think anything related to Notre Dame is consistently over-rated, whether it be the ranking of the football team or future nfl prospects. Just too many ND homers out there blinded by the light of former glory. Remember "Rocket" Ishmael?

Just a pet peeve I guess. Lol

2.02 Paul Perkins

This may seems like a questionable call, but I've been watching tape of this guy and I'm really like what I see. Has very good vision in between the tackles combined with patience in letting plays develop, a nasty elusiveness, and workhorse ability that makes him a really underrated prospect. Has shown that he can be both a bruiser in short yardage situations and elusive in the open field by continually making defenders miss. Wasn't the best pass catcher at UCLA, but showed an ability to turn screen passes into nice gains. Needs to become better in pass protection. Was worried about his speed. Can get to the edge in college, but was worried if he was fast enough. Showed that he is fast enough with a 4.5 40 for a 220 lb back and had a 10' plus broad to accentuate his explosiveness. If he lands in a place like Carolina or New York this guy will blow up.
Crazy, but reminds me a little bit of Rawls when he runs.
