League Free Agency begins April 19th


$60 yearly fee payable to LeagueSafe with majority approval required for payouts.

Starting lineup is QB, 5 "flex", and a full 11 IDP with custom scoring. There is only 1 player copy per league so this is truly 32 teams.

Features of this league include:

-Salary Cap/Contracts
-Annual Rookie Draft
-Three Offseason Free Agent auction periods (April, June, August)
-Contract Extensions and Franchise Tag
-Two Annual "Double-Header" weeks (weeks 3 and 10) for a total of 14 scheduled regular season games
-Annual Draft Lottery for the bottom 6 teams to determine the top 6 picks in the yearly rookie draft
-Compensatory Picks for expiring Free Agents lost to FA

The league had a successful first season. As things go in these big leagues, we do seem to have 4 likely orphaned teams.

The teams that are likely to be vacated are: MIN, NYG, SEA, and TBB. We will know for sure in the next day or two how many of these are definitely orphaned. Trying to recruit now so there is no downtime.

There is a new owner dispersal draft. All orphaned teams will enter their players and 2020 picks into one pool and there will be a snake draft. This is a nice bonus for someone taking an orphan as you'll have some freedom to build as you wish. These were all pretty solid teams last season (NYG and TB made playoffs, MIN barely missed) so there is potential to build a great team right away.

League fee is $60 and would be due prior to dispersal.

League FA begins in April and rookie draft is in May.

Dispersal draft includes some very strong flex and building a winning roster immediately is possible.

This will be a dispersal so you'll have a lot of options when building. You can look at the open rosters to see the players in the dispersal draft.

Hi I am interested but have a few questions. Let's say I am participating in the dispersal draft and get last pick of the three and can't get a real QB, so I there is obviously no real possibility of me competing in year one. Am I still barred from dealing a productive veteran for picks and prospects until after week seven? What are you using for league communication?

Also. Do the terrible contracts travel with the players in the dispersal draft or can I assign new ones?

The contracts will travel.

New owners do get 1 penalty-free drop at the end of the dispersal so that helps with at least 4 bad contracts (1 for each team).

We typically use league chat for communication along with message board/articles on MFL and a Facebook group for news.

You're allowed to deal players/picks as you see fit at any point. Lots of owners in this league have been in another similar league for 8 years now and are always willing to offer advice on value of vets you are dealing for picks.

I think at least one of the new owners can build an immediately competitive team but drafting a rookie pick heavy dispersal and selling vets to tank this year is a very viable strategy as well.

EDIT: That "Rebuild" section of the trade chapter of the rules is no longer enforced and should be removed (by me). I'm glad you pointed that out.
