It sounds like you play in leagues with owners that have a Redraft mentality... There's a fineline between redraft mentality and over doing the dynasty mentality. Not to pile on but you might have been better to hold him this year - at least for a portion of the season to see how things panned out and if he was healthy and productive, who knows what a contender would have given.
