Re: Late Round Rookie Draft Strategy

The other teams in his league are already doing this. That's why he's got 5 7th rounders.

Re: Live Auction Options

One more question - can you see the person's bid? I do not see an option on myfantasyleague for that option. Why would you allow that? If I'm in a league where I can see other owners' proxy bids, then I'm bidding every player up to just under the other owners' max bids in order to make them pay as ...

Re: Am I the only one who HATES "standard" fantasy scoring?

add me to the "hates PPR" list the act of a reception adds nothing to the game, the result of the catch (yards and scores) does. back catches the ball 5 yards behind the line and is immediately tackled = +0.5points back takes the handoff 5 yards behind the line and is immediately tackled ...

Re: Orphan rebuild advice - HELP!

Decker, Edelman and then some of the likes of Marvin Jones, Streater, Royal, Bowe, Boykin, Holmes, Heyward Bey, Jernigan stick out among the rest of the muck. This league has a rush heavy scoring (.2 per attempt), would Doug Martin me a target? CJ would be about a 5.8 mil hit on the cap, would it b...

Re: Orphan rebuild advice - HELP!

Do you know what free agents are going to be available in the veteran auction? Based on what you posted, I'd cut Gore and CJ but keep Brees. For 16 teams, that's a good core group of studs. You may be closer to competing than you think, but be prepared to spend the bulk of your money at WR and then ...

Re: IDP scoring

I concur in recommending Big Play IDP scoring systems over those that favor points from tackles (which isn't even an official NFL stat by the way). The PFF article is an excellent starting point, but play around with scoring system and starting requirements using MFL and the 2013 stats to come up wi...

I concur with hankscorpio. I'm in favor of having rookie picks on the cheaper side to increase their value and act as a greater roster equalizer.

Re: Multicap leagues

Would a team be able to take some of that cap money and invest it in their stadium so that they could get greater revenue (cap space) in subsequent years?

Maybe have the cap decrease slightly to show depreciation of the stadium each year until a team spends some money investing in improvements?

Re: Why is PPR the new standard?

Set up a league in Myfantasyleague.com. You don't have to pay for it for months, so in the meantime you can play around with the scoring system and see how it affects fantasy points across positions over the past two seasons. You just have to wait a few hours after making a change in the scoring sys...

Re: DT for Jeffery

What an apparently odd league salary cap set-up. "a lot of owners have plenty of [cap] room"? and a player can have his contract extended at any time at his "current market value?" How is that determined? Because if a lot of teams have cap space, then I'm guessing the method of d...

Re: IDP in an auction

I concur with ebreeze except I think J.J. Watt is the exception. He had a "down" year last year and still was at the top of the IDP fantasy points standings with Quinn. The year before, he was worth more than the next 2 IDPs combined. Quinn is also worth making a push for, but don't break ...

Re: Points per Completion

I set up a league 15 years ago with similar scoring. It seemed to make sense at the time as completion percentage looked like a very valuable statistic in differentiating good QBs from bad. But the NFL changed a lot since then, with a much greater emphasis on high percentage, low yardage passing pla...
