Re: Multiple leagues do you diversify?
Diversify expensive players; go all-in on cheap ones. You don't want an Odell Beckham injury to torpedo all your teams. But if you like Joe Williams and he busts, who cares, it's a late 2nd. If he hits on all your squads, that's a big win.

Re: Breshad Perriman Outlook
Those vacated targets in Baltimore are misleading. The Ravens led the NFL in pass attempts in 2016. If they throw 80 fewer times, they'll still be in the top 10 in passes. Once Woodhead gets his share, there aren't many "extra" targets available to divvy up. They also led the league in 20...

Re: Devante Parker
501 attempts would still be well below the league average for a 2nd consecutive year. That would mean Miami would be a 10 win team again. I would bet against that. They were a fluky 10 win team last season as is. Ajayi getting 288 carries seems pretty optimistic as well. They will have to throw mor...

Amari and a 1st is way more than you can expect. Maybe Freeman + 1st for Cooper, but even that might not get it done.

Re: 2017 Running Back Report
Coop and others have touched on an important point: most predictive models are trained on one set of data and tested on another. Or, if not, the analyst acknowledges that and treats the results accordingly. If we combine the training and testing sets we're just saying, "These are things that ha...

Re: OTC at 4.07
Looks like a 2RB, 2WR, 1 flex league. I'm fine with Woodhead, but I'd go McNichols if I were you. His hype is growing, and if your league catches up you may be able to flip him for a profit even before the season begins.

You absolutely make this move no matter who's available at 1.02.

Re: Is trading for OTC picks poor strategy?
This thread prompted me to draft an article about draft trading in general. To answer the OP's question, though, there's at least one situation where trading for an OTC pick is obviously a smart move: when you're paying "fair value" to leapfrog someone likely to be targeting the same playe...

Re: Strategies For Determining Starters
are there any analytic systems out there that have been consistently successful in determining who to start that you have seen work? I don't know any that have tested and demonstrated success. My advice is to use a set of published rankings to help you with close calls. We at DLF tend to use 4for4....

Re: Zero Trade Dynasty Strategy?
How old is the league, and what are your thoughts so far? How many rounds is the rookie draft, and are free agents included? Sorry for all the questions. This sounds intriguing. There's a two-round devy draft in February, a four-round rookie draft after the combine, and a three-round free agent dra...

Actually, instead of answering that here, you should probably create a new thread in the Team Advice forum. You can get guidance there throughout the startup draft.

Re: Offseason 2017 completed trades and discussion
Gave: Watkins
Got: 1.06 + 2018 1st + Garcon
I acquired Watkins before the draft.
Gave: 1.09 + 1.11 + 2.04 + Meredith
Got: Watkins
I think I took the L overall, but it's close and I'm a sucker for future 1sts.

Re: Zero Trade Dynasty Strategy?
I'm in a draft-only best ball devy league. No waivers, free agency, or trades. It's more of an experiment than a truly competitive league, but I think it would be fun for the right group, and it's very good at isolating "skill" -- if by skill we mean prospect evaluation.
