Re: Any chance Welker goes to Denver?

I don't understand why they would...Decker and Welker are very similar players in my opinion. Did you read this somewhere or was it just an idea in your head? Just wondering how you came about the idea of why this might be plausible. What do Decker and Welker have in common besides being white WR's...

Re: Anquan Boldin traded for 49ers for 6th round pick

Have to say I don't see a fit. Crabtree is the slowish, chain mover. I don't see him and Boldin as very good completements for each other. Jenkins probably is a good target. While I wouldn't say Crabtree is a 9-route specialist, he isn't really just a slow, possession chain mover. He doesn't time w...

Re: Any chance Welker goes to Denver?

Denver fan here - I don't think its going to happen. Denver does have some cap room, but I think they'd rather spend big $$ on MLB, DT, CB, or OL before they spend big on a WR. I know the team, and Peyton, really likes Stokely and I imagine he'll be back in 2013 for one more year. The problem Denver...

Re: Kaep and Wilson

I find myself soundly in the minority of those that view Wilson as a step or two better than Kaep. I look at the guys at the top (Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Peyton) and see that the thing that sets them apart from the rest are their Brains and preparation. Wilson is not only gifted physically, but is c...

Re: Start-Up Strategy

last year I went with the opposite strategy. I skipped on those guys I got D Thomas, Roddy White and Percy Harvin all for around $20 each ($200) budget. the problem with your plan is those guys each cost about 20-25% of your budget. if you grab two of them it doesn't give you a chance to build much...

TheOracle wrote:What are the starting rosters?
1 QB, 3 RB's, 3 WR's, TE, 2 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) - basicaly the same number of starters for a typical 12-team league (besides the QB).

Re: Start-Up Strategy

I think you need to include Luck on your list of QBs and Martin on your list of RBs. I also don't know if I'd have Charles on that list. I know you were just throwing out some names of the top of your head, but these are guys I'd consider in that group as well. Yep, would definitely include Luck & ...

Re: Brock Osweiler

Big(gest) Peyton Manning fan, here's my $.02 - Elway loves Brock Osweiler. Elway (and the rest of the Broncos) knew that after they brought in Manning, they'd essentially win themselves out of position to ever draft his successor. You don't usually find future QB-studs at the end of the 1st round. T...

Start-Up Strategy

I'm participating in an Auction-style Start-Up draft next week and I wanted to get an idea on what everyone's strategy seems to be in this situation. I personally see a lot of value in grabbing a few "studs" to build your team around, especially at the TE position. My reasoning is this - RB 2's, WR ...

Re: traded up 6 spots how did I do?

This seems too good to be true. He gives up 1.3 for 1.9 - that's a lot of lost value. He gives up 2.3 for 3.9 - that's a lot of lost value. He gets Brandon Lafell - nothing but a throw in even for diehard Panthers' fans. I originally read the deal without including the 2.3 pick - and still thought y...

Re: Who are you higher on than Everyone else

Droppedballs - The argument is that you are using a player's past in order to predict his future. Sure, Crabtree's week 17 performance didn't help his owners out last year. But it was still a regular season game played between 2 teams that weren't resting starters or calling it quits. In fact, it wa...

Re: Just a thought about NE drafting a WR

Just my $.02 - Often times in hindsight, we look back at a promising player who disappointed and label him a bust. Conversely, we see someone relatively unknown emerge in the NFL as a legit starter, and we wonder how we let him slip through the cracks. I believe that not enough attention is given to...

Re: Percy Harvin to the Pats

I don't think Harvin's value should really increase much if he were to leave Minnesota. If it was to a place like NE or DEN, where he'd be catching passes from an All-Time great, than I could justify a boost. But if he ends up going to Carolina, St. Louis, Indy, etc. I would not bump him up based on...

Dynasty -

If you are so high on Bryce Brown being the next Walter Peyton - then why are you trying to acquire McCoy?
