Re: The Fall of Gurley

My two cents as someone who has torn his ACL 3x (all right knee) and my meniscus twice (each side) due to high school and collegiate wrestling, you can return back to 100% with today modern medicine. I probably received a fraction of the care an NFL athlete receives and I have competed in both mara...

Re: The Fall of Gurley

Just as an FYI this is not the lowest Gurleys value has been. '16 was disastrous. More than just the 3.2 ypc, I remember published tape study arguing that Gurley couldn't see daylight at the line when it was there. Now McVay has him facing 8 men only 8% of the time, and what a difference that makes.

Re: Tyreek Hill

so Hill claims he never did anything wrong? Shocking! and in your eyes that helps his case? Judge: "did you do it?" Perp: "No your honor." Judge: "Works for me. Clearly you are innocent. Case dismissed." In a one sided trap recording he doesn't realize is being made, him denying everything does hel...

Re: The Fall of Gurley

The takeaway for me is to not forget about particularly severe past knee injuries, even if in the nearer term the player appears to have fully recovered. Ajayi seems to be another less dramatic example of this. At one point it seemed he and Gurley had put the injury permanently behind them as they p...

Re: Terry McLaurin

Draft capital really doesn't matter for WRs. I don't dismiss Day 3s and undrafted out of hand, but draft capital always matters, of course. Day 3s and undrafteds have to hit the league running or get stuck in a 'depth piece' perception even if their play when they do get snaps doesn't deserve it. N...

Re: Are you Buying/Selling Sam Darnold

I'm buying. Up and down rookie year, but his supporting cast was bottom-tier and he was the youngest starting QB in NFL history. So considered in that context, his rookie tape looks special to me.

Re: Ultimate Sleeper: Who is this year's Tyler Boyd?

Yeah. Guys like Pettis, Coutee, Samuel, Herndon, Everett, Andrews, etc are young guys people right now aren't struggling to feel optimistc about. In contrast, Boyd was largely left for dead after '17 -- he was cut to my primary league's waiver-wire / free-agent pool for the '18 rooke-draft, and iirc...

Re: Ultimate Sleeper: Who is this year's Tyler Boyd?

Been trying to add Wilson everywhere but he's tough to acquire, I think his owners are well aware of his value Real chance he misses much or even all of training-camp / preseason. You could try to swoop for him at some point during that. Wow, a lot of love for Curtis Samuel. Twitterverse is crazy f...

Re: Ultimate Sleeper: Who is this year's Tyler Boyd?

After '17, a lot of people -- myself included -- had given up on Boyd becoming a good pro player. He proved us wrong. So by that comparative context, and considered together with current ADP, I suggest Donte Moncrief and Keelan Cole.

Re: KC Chiefs win projection

Of course Smith is a game-manager. But, again, Mahomes doubled what he did on the scoreboard for the Chiefs! The point is: it's irrational to argue Mahomes' '18 season was drastically the beneficiary of a magical system when he, as a singular variable , came in and did almost 100% more than the prev...

Re: Damien Williams - convince me

For those who own Williams, here's an alternative to "selling high" for a 1st. Why not acquire Hyde, Thompson, and James Williams on the cheap instead? None of those guys is worth more than a 3rd, so it's pretty cheap to hedge your KC RB bet. But Thompson is going as a rookie-draft 2nd, isn't he? T...

Re: KC Chiefs win projection

The Mahomes doubt is a head-scratcher. Have the skeptics even watched the football played? Even if you haven't, you know Mahomes threw twice as many TDs as Smith the year previous, with an almost identical supporting cast and a newly promoted OC that had never coordinated an NFL team before last sea...

It's alarming to me that none of those other guys followed up on their one good season in NE.

Re: To anyone holding Gronk on their roster

A 6'6" man like Gronk could weigh 220 with low body-fat like WRs of similar height, but the tight-end position benefits from additional non-muscle weight. It just looks to me like Gronk hasn't wasted any time losing losing that extra weight, now that he doesn't need it. Good for him, man. Muscle can...
