Re: London or burks

In response to- 'Wait. You think a DC is going to take his top outside big cover CB and move him inside the box to play over Pitts when that guys can take away London on the outside with no S help? Can you give me an example of that happening? Bingo. They'll bracket Pitts with a Nickel and S and let...

Re: London or burks

Without dipping so much as a delicate toe into the shark-infested churn of tape vs data, I'd like to offer a couple of quick thoughts on London purely from film. I've no idea what he'll become in the league, so I'm not trying to change anyone's mind on him. I'm just suggesting that you consider a co...

Re: Harris vs. '20 RBs

Be careful. Next you will be pointing out that Montgomery crushing a run of tissue thin Ds to end the year has been used as a stick to beat down his value, whereas Taylor doing the same was reason to anoint him. Then you'll really be in trouble...

Re: Antonio Gibson rocket ship

I see the comment about Gibson being hit or miss inside, and I don't disagree. There are a couple of things I'd add to this though. The first is that the vast majority of backs are somewhat hit or miss inside. Guys like McCaffrey, Chubb and Cook seem to rarely get it wrong, but few backs are right a...

Re: Antonio Gibson rocket ship

The pleasant surprise with Gibson is how well he runs inside and how effective he is after contact. You could see in college that he had the burst to be good in space, but not that he would be a real problem for defences up the gut. His odds of sticking as a feature back keep going up I think, in th...

Re: James Robinson

As a UDFA he is likely dumped as soon as he suffers any kind of significant injury, or has a sustained run of poor performances. Simply for that reason, he is undoubtedly high risk. There are a couple of important caveats here though for the people certain that he is fool's gold. The first is that t...

Re: What is Saquons value like now?

The Panthers get a less decisive, less efficient runner who is nowhere near as reliable on the ground. They get a less well-rounded player in the passing game too. The Giants get a lesser athlete but a better player.

Re: Antonio Gibson rocket ship

Sorry FantasyFreak, I should have been clearer. I was responding to the post about vision, rather than your post. I do think this game told us next to nothing as the Eagles line was still pretty dominant - and Sweat might be as good as it gets as a back-up. I'd be inclined to agree that he's unlikel...

Re: Antonio Gibson rocket ship

Context. Context. Context. The Eagles D-line is nasty. Fletcher Cox is the best Defensive Tackle not named Aaron in the league and the whole line is a problem for any running game. Are we thinking Barkley sucks now because the Steelers ate the Giants alive in the run game? If you want to be really w...

Re: Baker mayfield

I was excited about him, but the two worries right now are the kind that can kill a QB's career. He doesn't look decisive about where to go with the ball and when. He isn't throwing an accurate ball. 'Talent' is an amorphous concept, but getting it out on time to the right guy and putting it where y...

Funny that after truncated camps and no pre-season games. I wonder if there's a connection?

Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?

A couple of thoughts here. Firstly, the coaches have confirmed that he is the starter, that they expect to give him the first carry of the game and that they are excited about him. Secondly, I am not sure from where we get the idea that the Jags are going to be awful offensively. Defensively they lo...

Re: Jacksonville backfield, who is the guy?

It's been an interesting thread. The only thought I'd like to chip in with is about value in dynasty leagues. Slow accumulation is a nice theory, but hinges on the idea that you can gradually improve your team in a vacuum until the point at which it is good enough to win. I'm not sure how useful thi...
