Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

^ Draft Capital should tell us what we need to know here then right? Yes and no. There are players with good draft capital whose bad rep off the field followed them to the NFL and they flamed out because of it. So, yes it's good to have, but it doesn't make those concerns a nothing burger. For exam...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Dane Brugler: “The talent’s there. It’s a matter of consistency on and off the field. He’s been to 6 schools in 8 years. As one NFL scout put it, he was on the bleep list of the coaches of both Georgia and Alabama” Here in lies my concern Personally, I'll let whoever have that. He could potentially...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

We haven't talked a ton (unless I have missed it) about Jermaine Burton. Does his talent overcome his maturity issues? Are his "red flags" just one game where he pushed two different fans after a game when fans stormed the field? Like I get it pushing a girl who tried to move around him w...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

One thing I heard on the radio for why JJM is shooting up drafts is that a lot of college QBs don't run an NFL-style offense. They don't call plays (they get cards?) and JJM is the only one that has been calling plays, understands how that all works. So just keep that in mind. Levis ran pro style l...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

I get the age, size and one-year wonder knocks, but there is a lot to like about Jayden Daniels. He's about the best pick one could make if they subscribe to the "draft for upside" strategy. It's pretty clear how he could be a top-5 FF QB. Every prospect has some sort of issue, but if we ...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

I don't think it's crazy to assume if Dallas goes Brooks or Benson in round 2 you will start to see them off the board after the big 3 receivers and in 2QB top 3/4 QBs + Bowers. In non-TEP we can argue about pure talent and opportunity but look at what Kyren did this year with that backfield all to...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

I think 2-3 RBs in this class will outperform their adp. How many startable years for a WR or RB do you really expect for guys going late 1st/early 2nd (1QB)? If 2-3 RBs give you 3 years of RB2+, that doesn’t seem bad to me This sounds very optimistic based on what we know about this class so far. ...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

The RB class is better IMO than what is being projected by many, but then these guys have been a target for derision for quite a while by the FF groupthink. I don’t see a legit stud bellcow in the bunch, but I do see enough guys with enough positive qualities that they’ll be able to earn enough opp...

Re: 2024 Free Agency

i don't think adding dobbins changes anything in the chargers' draft plans, he'll be cheap and not a lock to make the 53. i hope he does and is THE RB1 next season, but i highly doubt it. Bingo. Another BAL/Roman RB heads over to LAC. No surprise to me. They will still look to add to JK/Gus I am su...

Re: Biggest NFL (and thus, dynasty) Draft Busts

I don't think Clyde fits. For dynasty? Easily. But in the NFL he was the last pick of the first round. Him being a bust had no noticeable impact on the Chiefs

Re: Not at all early 2025 Draft thread

Definitely lacking in the "star studded/generational prospects" like these past two years but incredibly solid to say the least. It's still early but I'm very impressed with the volume of RB and WR talent next year. Obviously Burden will be the big name however Tet Mcmillan, Evan Stewart ...

Re: Next level rookie QB

One thing I've noticed with non-1st round QB hits recently is that it's almost all situation-dependent: Hurts - Philadelphia (great OL, great coaching, good WRs, good GM) Prescott - Dallas (great OL, decent coaching, good WRs) Purdy - San Francisco (good OL, WRs, Kyle Shanahan, good GM) Cousins - Wa...

Re: All Things Bears

HOT DAMN, Bears are #6!!! And if they draft Nabers/Odunze then what? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-nfls-top-12-wr-trios-heading-into-2024-draft-texans-atop-list-after-stefon-diggs-trade/ Keep seeing Odunze to the Bears at 1.09. I sort of wonder if any of the top-3 WRs will make it that...
