Just based on marginally qualifying academically? That makes him a bad person and a trouble maker? I disagree that by itself that makes him a problem.
No, fathering 2 children before he is himself is an adult and marginally qualifying academically plus needing the support of Sanders looks like he has some issues. WVU is a good school, but it is not the cream of the crop, that tells a lot in my opinion.

Ahh, Those WVU alumni must be proud of all the high character football players they have produced. At least they have made their mark as Poster Childern.

Now why don't we all go out and burn some couches as they do down in Morgantown.

Being a big Gator fan i follow recruiting alot and this kid has a TON of baggage and it's far to long for me to list here. He was easily one of the top RB and he only had a couple scholarships to choose from because most of the big schools did not extend an actually committable scholarship to him. Only WV and Florida State really offered him if that tells you anything
QB: A. Rodgers, Herbert, Purdy, Levis
RB: ETN, Bijan, Gibbs, Mostert, Dobbins, R. White
WR: AJB, Diggs, ARSB, G. Wilson, Kirk, E. Moore, Mingo, Wicks
TE: Fant, Njoku, Chiggy, I. Smith, Musgrave

Being somewhat close to the WVU campus...unfortunately... ....I have actually heard very good things about him. A friend of a friend seen him shopping at a Wal Mart and he was definately playing the family man with his woman and child(1 was with him). I have heard that he has matured under Sanders watch. We will have to wait and see if he can keep it up, but I know they are excited about him in Motown.....Now lets go burn some couches.....again

not bad stats at all for a freshman at a division 1 school, with limited carries.

He's a great talent. But, he's way too small to do anything in the NFL. He has Jones-Drew height but weighs 40 pounds less.

I'm not sold.

That can change though...especially in college

people said warrick dunn was undersized, priest holmes, both good backs for a period of time. as long as the smaller backs can limit the hits they take they can actually turn out to be pretty good.

While some small backs have made this leap, the vast majority don't. It's very rare for a successful full time NFL RB to be under 200 lbs...

He's 5'8" 170 pounds. That's small all the way around, even for a freshman. He doesn't seem to have the frame to add a lot of muscle without losing the speed and elusiveness that makes him special. I could be wrong though. It's happened once or twice in my life. :D

well he has like 3 kids already I believe, and multiple run ins with the law....in one case he stole Deion Sanders car and drove it to the airport in a failed attempt to fly away and never be seen again. Sounds more like a case of a lost young man, and im glad deion still is a big part of his life even after that incident.

Height is not the concern, weight is. Darren Sproles is fine as an NFL player getting a few touches here and there, but he will never be a consistent producers in FFB. MJD is actually 210 lbs...

As a Mountaineer alumn I've seen a lot of Devine. He's naturally gifted as you can tell, but it's WAY to early to start projecting him. He has alot of time to add muscle and grow thicker. He's undersized even by college standards. If he doesn't thicken up, I can't see him being a factor as a pure RB in the NFL...he'll have to be a specialist/utility guy in the Kevin Faulk or Reggie Bush mold. He's also running out of an unconventional offense, and hasn't yet become the polished or consistent player he needs to be. Right now his repertoire is almost all big plays. He needs to learn how to move the sticks.

But the guy has a sick burst. When he gets a crease, he stuns defenders with how fast he gets to it and through it. He's a fantastic open field runner. It remains to be seen how good he can be as an everydown runner.
