Just traded the 1.06,1.07 and 1.11 for OBJ str8 up.

I feel like my team is elite and OBJ starts for me where those rookie picks are unlikely.

People value rookies a lot in my league so some felt I overpaid…. I think it was the best move for me being the 1st place team in 2013 and 2nd this year (thanks a lot bin laden, jamaal charles and andrew luck.)

Wow, that is a good deal, IMO. He seems to be the real deal. In one league, I'd love to acquire OBJ but I'd have to trade two arms and two legs. In the league that I own him, Not much could pry him away. Especially not 3 mid 1st rounders.

Yeah, I think based on your overall squad, moving the three picks to add OBJ is a great move. Nice to have a league full of people that value rookies to be able to make that move.

2013 you may have grabbed, Zac Stacy, C Patterson, or Markus Wheaton with those picks. All being picked within the 1.06, 1.07, and 1.11 range. You wanna trade me OBJ for those three? Eddie Lacy dropped that low, which is a good pic, but there was also Jonathan Fraklin. So yeah, OBJ and his over 1k yards and 11 TDs in 11 games as a rookie isn't a steal when compared to three picks that could or couldn't work out. 2014 draft was an anomaly, not many draft years will be like it.

I don't think paying three later firsts is paying top 5 price.

I have seen what it would take to get Julio and aj and dez off people on these forums.
It's laughable and not worth trying.

Obj has been the most dominant player in fantasy this season down the stretch. I gaurantee he is on the most champion teams this season.

Obviously I tend to agree. If you get one guy who has proven he can put up stats and make plays, I take him over three guys that have proven nothing. Rookies, in general, aren't going to produce right away. I'm looking to win now, while staying relatively young. OBJ looks like the real deal, while we don't know what the future holds, im willing to take a chance on his superb production, over three unknowns. That's my philosophy, may not be the same as others, however I don't think it makes me a "moron" or "dumb as hell".

Don't really want to get in the middle of the argument in this thread, but this is spot on. We've discussed this several times on the boards. 3 mid 1st is not paying top 5 WR value. That's more on the lines of 4-5 1sts

idk what leagues some of you have played in but in my 15 yrs of playing fantasy i have only ever seen 1 player go for more than 3 1sts. adrian peterson a few yrs back after his monster year

This is helpful information, because I think it helps to put into perspective where you're coming from. I would assume that you play in leagues that don't have imaginary rules about a player needing to perform at a specific level over a predetermined interval before he can safely be regarded as a stud. If that's the case, then yes, I could see how three draft picks might carry more value than OBJ. I suppose it really comes down to your evaluation of this draft (or any draft) after the combine and NFL Draft. If you have players that will be there at 1.06, 1.07, and 1.12 that you believe in, then selling OBJ (or any other player) for that could work out. I personally think we're still too early in the draft process to know what kind of value will be there at 1.06, 1.07, and 1.12 so I wouldn't be looking to sell any top assets for picks until I knew what I was getting.
