Andre Williams

Postby BwK » Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:38 pm

I like this guy...I mean I really like this guy. To me he may have the best career of all RB in the class. When I watch him he reminds me of Lynch and Dillon. I dont see the lateral quickness that I see in lynch but when I compare their combine numbers Williams compared favorably. lynch ran a 4.46 to Williams 4.56 and 3 cone was like 7.07 to williams 7.47. Other than those two drills Awill out performed lynch in all other drills. I know the main knock on williams is he can't catch but he wasnt in that style of O and the man can run the football...plus hes book smart. What am I missing?? Right now I have him and Sankey battling out for my #1 RB spot.

Could be the Alfred Morris of this draft. Not very elusive but good one cut pounder. I have him in tier two of the RBs but I like him than I'm guessing most do. Wouldn't expect many passes going his way though which hurts his value some.

I just watched some tape on him. Dude is a beast. Not blazing fast but fast enough in the open field. Has a mean stiff arm too and runs low to the ground. And while his lateral quickness isn't the best, He has quick feet if that makes any sense. Could be a bulldozer in the NFL.

I really like Andre Williams, and right now, I think he is way undervalued. If he gets on the right team, he could be a real force. Yes he lacks shiftiness, and caught zero balls last year. He probably needs to work on his blocking as well. But he is a devastating one-cut runner, and is a monster to take on in the second level. He will score a lot, and has very good speed for a 230 lb back. Still wondering why he is being overlooked.

Lots of RB's who performed better at the combine have moved him back. He also looked amazingly awful trying to catch the ball, and most leagues are PPR.

I've only seen a couple highlights and his combine performance so i wouldn't be able to give a good enough comparison. I think he had better college numbers than Blount though.

I just don't see it . I have watched 100 plus carries and I saw about 4 or 5 that impressed . I thought hyde ran into his blockers a lot then I watched this guy and he makes hyde look like barry sanders .... he is off my draft board ... disclaimer I play in 16 team leagues only with 2 round drafts so that is 32 deep but when I ranked out guys he was in the 40 range . In a TD heavy league if he fell to the right situation I might pull the trigger late in the 2nd .

Dude was absolutely the only offense for BC this year, running against 8 man fronts, and he still led the nation in rushing and averaged over 6 ypc. Go watch his tape against NC State and tell me there is nothing impressive. Plus he showed marked improvement catching the ball at his pro day. Good news is, he will likely be available to me in the second round. In a RB class full of question marks, he has as much potential as anyone.
