Sam Bradford bust?

Postby cool_zapp » Tue Sep 24, 2013 8:20 pm

Is Sam Bradford a top 10 QB in the near future? I have Brees and I traded for Bradford a year ago hoping that he would develop to eventually take over my starting QB job when Brees retired. I'm not so sure he has it anymore. If he doesn't have a breakout season this year do you think the Rams are going to be through with him and try to replace him with a QB either in the offseason or the draft? I'm just curious as to whether I should be looking to draft a QB in next years rookie draft.

I still believe, the way the rams have torn it all down you gotta almost consider him a rookie again.

All the excuses are gone, it's time to stop expecting him to be something he isn't. For some reason everyone wants to blame the play calling, coaching, weapons, offensive line, basically anything that has to do with what is wrong other then him. He's a solid QB, above average, but nothing special and I never expected his fantasy outlook to change.

x2 exact reason I jumped on a 2014 2nd rd pick and 2015 1st rd pick for Bradford.

I actually think he could produce good fantasy stats this year if Fisher wasn't so reluctant to use the no-huddle more often. Not on every down, but at least a greater percentage. The personnel fit and Bradford has shown he can deliver running it. I honestly think the Rams O would be better right now if they just spread out the defense and slung it around, because they don't have the running backs of Rams past to scare defenders. It will be interesting to see how the year plays out.

Do you guys think that if Bradford has a mediocre year that STL will want a QB change next year?

Wait, isn't he the #7-ish QB in your leagues right now?

Nope, not with all the excuses at their disposal when it comes to Bradford (Whether they're unfounded or not). I think he easily gets until through the 2014 season before there's even a chance of him being replaced. Even then, I think it's a slim chance.

Hmm I guess he's having a decent year after all. He's got better numbers than cam, Wilson, Ryan, Eli. Interesting.

Yeah dude, lol.

I am Bradford's biggest supporter and have been since day 1 when I drafted him in the 4th round of our startup, lol.

However, last week Bradford was the #5 ranked QB according to Yahoo. The highest he's ever been i'm sure. If we weren't ready to deem him a bust after 2 overly mediocre seasons, and 1 horrific showing of NFL QB play over the course of his second season lol, why should we deem him a bust now? lol.

Not for nothing, but Colin Kaepernick just bleep the bed twice in a row. Are we ready to declare him a bust? Not that Kaep has 3 NFL seasons under his belt, but a week agao Bradford was looking like an absolute breakout star. Absolutely not. It was a bad game, lol. His ground game also was nonexistant. I'm not declaring he is going to welcome the 49ers this week, and shred their defense, but their is alot to be excited about with Braddy. He finally showed some of the high upside those of us who are high on him during the first two games. We need to see a whole season of work before declaring anything with Bradford here. Not 2 really solid performances, and 1 clunker.
Entering year ten of Dynasty 10 team 2QB/2RB/4WR/1TE/1FLEX(rb/wr/te).

QB: Bryce Young, Jared Goff, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Stetson Bennett.
WR: Garret Wilson, Devonta Smith, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman, Odell Beckham, Treylon Burks, Zay Flowers, Curtis Samuel, Dyami Brown, Kenny Golladay.
RB: Bijan Robinson, Cam Akers, Antonio Gibson, Donta Foreman, Michael Carter, James Robinson, Dontrell Hilliard.
TE: Evan Engram, David Njoku, Trey McBride, Matt LaPorta Jelani Woods, Bob Tonyan.

He leads the league in pass attempts so I guess you could say he's Matt Staffording his way to relevance.

I don't see the Rams moving on from him given the difficulty of finding a QB and his salary for the next two years (2014: $14.015 million, 2015: $12.985 million). I assume cutting him would incur a pretty hefty cap penalty.

Edit:
Also unless my math is wrong he's on pace for 750 pass attempts 4750 yards and 32 TDs.

I don't think hes a bust at all. I'll bet you there are plenty of NFL teams that wish they had Sam as their starting QB. Min, Cle, Jax, TB come to mind right off the top of my head. I don't know if Sam will ever be a fantasy juggernaut, but I think he'll always be relevant

Am I missing something? Bradford is on pace for 4700/32.
