Only player I really like at this point.

Upside: Has the ability to develop into a top-tier pro QB.

Downside: Drafted by the Raiders.

So much for talent over situation, right? Before the draft, folks were touting Franklin as the #1 RB in this class. Now he's being drafted behind these guys.

This reminds me of what happened last year with Lamar Miller in a few of my drafts. Prior to the NFL draft, I had planned to take him with my #2 pick in my rookie draft. I ended up getting him late 2nd round in both of my drafts because of his situation. Looking forward to potentially getting Franklin in the same situation this year.

Ellington is a good change of pace prospect, but if I had to put money on one of the Arizona rookies to be a long term three down back it's Taylor. At the very least I think he can work in to a back up role behind the injury risk duo of Mendenhall and Williams.

Reed could easily become Davis' successor next year, as the rest of their TE group is either unproven or better suited for blocking.

Why do you think Taylor has a better chance to be a three down back? Is it because of his body type? I think Ellington's explosiveness will separate him from Taylor, which will see him the field sooner... even if it is just as a third down back. But you better believe when Ellington starts busting out 30 and 40 yard runs, everyone is going to want him on the field, coaches included. Taylor seems like a plodder without much wiggle.I see him having a hard time separating himself from the other running backs, especially running behind that weak o-line.

A common misconception about AE is his inability to run between the tackles. I actually think this is one of his strong suits. He's great at finding a hole and hitting it REALLY fast. He's a very patient runner and far more polished than Spiller was at this point between the tackles. Even when Spiller was a senior at Clemson and AE was a freshman, I thought Ellington was better between the tackles. What he doesn't have that Spiller has is an extra gear. He's great at breaking off 10-40 yard runs but he can't outrun angles like Spiller can. The knock on AE and probably the reason he fell so far in the draft was his injury history (turf toe and hamstring problems), both nagging injuries but neither due to being a "smaller" back.

Pass protection mainly. Taylor was one of the best pass protecting backs in college ball last year, so naturally he has the edge when it comes to every down duty.
