Super Danario

Postby ericanadian » Thu Nov 01, 2012 5:31 pm

Rotoworld:
Danario Alexander will start in place of the injured Robert Meachem (hamstring) on Thursday night.
He's the right height for a Philip Rivers receiver and I like the skillset. Injury risk, but he's healthy right now and young enough for it to be an abberation. Meachem isn't filling the deep threat role effectively and I'm still not sure Brown is going to fit right in either. I'm liking the upside here and put in a waiver claim.

Ya can't believe this game is even close. The team is about to get cleaned out. Already lost so much.

DX has always had enough talent to play, always. He's just always hurt. But I said the same thing about Laurent Robinson until 1 year he decided to stay healthy and blow up. So it could happen with him, and playing with Rivers is a good fit for him.

Looks like Rivers found his VJax replacement.

The problem with him is his knees maybe they can hold up. He is very talented.

He and Laurent Robinson seem like the same guy to me, down to the similar list of employers. Both have the talent but haven't been able to match situation and health consistently. I'm cautiously optimistic with Alexander.

What's even funnier to me is the Rams can't seem to develop a WR, ever, but the moment one leaves(Laurent Robinson, Donnie Avery, Danario Alexander) they find success elsewhere. I hope DX can stay healthy, but I don't think it's likely. Robinson had injury woes too but knees are different, they just start to break down after consistent stress, so if I were a betting man I don't see him making it to the end of the year, but if you have him he's a great guy to shop around and see what you can get at the time.

I think the knees issues are overstated. He tore his ACL in 2007 and re-tore it in 2008 doing rehab. He injured it again at the senior bowl in 2010, but it was not a tear. His one surgery since he joined the NFL was a scope. Hamstring issues have been a bigger problem over the last two years and I suspect that as a lot to do with how long he was out getting knee surgery two years in a row. Colston level knee issues seem worst case scenario to me, and although that's significant, it's not something I'm feeling a need to avoid given his situation and skillset.

Did anyone watch Alexander today? I saw his stat line, but I didn't watch the game so I'm curious to see how he looked
