I'm wondering where everyone falls on Redman next year. Last year he had 110 carries at 4.4 a pop and scored 3 tds. He added 18 receptions for a relatively bad 4.3 YPC. (Mendy was 8.6 last year on 18)
He received a huge workload in week 17 and in Round 1 of the playoffs and posted 19-92-1, 3-18 and 17-121-0, 2-21.
Great stats, however they were against Cleveland and Denver. Teams that ranked 22nd and 30th in total yards against rushing defense last year.
It's this small sample size of work against bad defenses that makes me unsure of how to value Redman next year.
What are you thoughts? Can he carry load for Pitt next year and emerge as a possible RB2?
I don't really have a read on the situation so I'm asking for opinions.
Isaac Redman Outlook 2012 What's your take?

He's on my radar. I could see him being this years D. Murray.

He put up decent numbers in his 10 carries against Seattle as well, who were solid against the run. He fumbles too much (4 in 190 touches over two years) and I like Dwyer a fair bit, especially with him seemingly taking things more seriously. I think he'll get a piece of the action, especially to start the season, but I think he'll have trouble holding off Dwyer, much less unseating Mendenhall.

Low end RB2 for 2012...
Re: Isaac Redman Outlook 2012 What's your take?
C'mon now, let's not get too excited. Murray was a rookie we never saw play at this level, who burst on the scene and dominated when he played, it was easy to see he was Dallas best RB once given the opportunity. Redman is a 27 year old backup we've seen thrust into a starting role before. Not terrible, but not special either. I think he should put up low RB2 numbers if he gets the full workload. Im just not yet convinced he doesn't share a good amount of carries, or catches, with Dwyer and Rainey. And if anyone on that team has a chance to be this years Murray, it's gotta be Rainey.jaytea24 wrote:He's on my radar. I could see him being this years D. Murray.

I agreed with the Murray assessment because I don't believe that the steelers brass really believes in mendenhall. If redman starts hot, I think it's possible that it's his job all season and puts up top 15 numbers as the lead back. Plus he is relatively cheap right now (RB31)...sugbear65 wrote:C'mon now, let's not get too excited.
