Guys, views on V Jax's ceiling and floor in the near-term and long-term? Based on the following relatively safe parameters:
1. WR1 in probably a run-first offense
2. Josh Freeman is at least a league-average QB (e.g. Cutler or Flacco's level of passing numbers perhaps)
3. Offensive line will be better
4. 2 Games versus CAR, ATL and NO each year
5. TB's defense will be bottom 5-10 this year
What do you think is his ceiling in PPR? Top 15-20 WR? e.g. someone like a Brandon Marshall
What is his floor in PPR? Top 30 WR? e.g. someone like a Santonio Holmes?
V Jax - near term ceiling and floor
Re: V Jax - near term ceiling and floor
I wouldn't put Freeman up at the Cutler level. I have Cutler well above Freeman.
If Freeman stares at his intended WR like he did last year, then VJax won't do well.
I'd take VJax over S.Holmes, but VJax isn't in the conversaton of B.Marshall to me. B.Marshall could catch 100 passes.
I would feel good about VJax as my wr3, but I'd be really worried each week if he was my WR2.

65/1,200/8 seems to be Jackson's average and close to his ceiling. Like Rourke said, he's scary as a WR2 because he can go 2/25/0 in a game just as often as he goes 10/172/2. In the long run you're looking at WR2 numbers but you have to expect some duds, especially as he adapts to a new offense and a less talented QB. SD likes to run the ball as much as anyone so I would not worry as much about Schiano's play calling as I would Freeman's arm, decision making, chemistry, etc.
