Future of PIT WR's

Postby holy_stromboli » Mon Dec 19, 2011 11:58 pm

It's hard to tell from tonight's game vs SF what the future holds for Steeler skill players, but what is going to happen next year with the passing game? It kind of feels like the 2nd half of this year they are becoming like the Packers and spreading the wealth. And of course we have Antonio Brown outproducing Wallace the last 5-6 weeks. Who is the WR1 moving forward, Wallace or Brown? Is this like a Nicks-Cruz type of situation, or has there been a changing of the guard? Diehard Steelers fans' input appreciated.

As a steelers fan I will say a fully healthy Ben will look for Wallace first (a lot of hi lo reads)...I think Brown will be the better PPR talent and Wallace the better non POR talent. Every time brown has a good game I love it cause I then can MSG the people that questioned me when I picked brown ahead of sanders! Lol

All I can say is that I'm ecstatic about picking up Brown off waivers this year when I was WR-needy. The value is upped by the fact that our league counts return yards.

I still like Wallace over Brown, especially in non-ppr leagues. I do think the Steelers passing offense is starting to look a bit like the Packers in which any WR can lead the team in any given week. Wallace, Brown, and Sanders will all hold decent value next season IMO.

I am not a steelers fan but watch alot of their games. I think Brown will be more consistent but Wallace will have more big games and tds. I would use the eagles as the example. Wallace in the DJax role and Brown in the Maclin role.

I think so, especially if Ward and Cotchery are gone.

That makes some sense. I view Wallace as more talented, faster and less of an attitude than DJax. Wallace just seems a little more polished to me.

I actually think of Wallace and Brown like if the Eagles had 2 Jeremy Maclins lol. Lots of speed and talented route runners (not like DJAX lol)

Wallace is still the #1. I think his numbers have dropped off because teams are almost always double covering him now. I am quite happy with my best trade of the year with 2nd rounder for Brown.

We're a local league in western Wisconsin, and had a transplanted Chippewa (moved to a town called Chippewa Falls, coincidentally) - anyway, in the rookie draft he nabbed Brown in the last round, to a chorus of hoots of course.

Yup, he's the only one laughing now.
