The rebuildeeeest of rebuilds

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

The rebuildeeeest of rebuilds

Postby UsualSuspects » Sun Apr 21, 2024 7:42 pm

12 Team PPR Superflex start 11 TE 1.75 premium

Took over this rebuild a couple of weeks ago and have been busy acquiring some picks. (When I took over the team it had no 2024 picks)- (timing wise I knew that I was trading players for picks at the wrong time of the year but wanted to start this rebuild with 2024 rookies)

Here is the current roster-

QB- Herbert, Heinicke, Zach Wilson, Willis
RB- Kendre Miller, Keaton Mitchell, Abinikanda, Hunt, Tucker, Vaughn, CEH, Michael Carter, Davis-Price
WR- Jayden Reed, Josh Palmer, Quentin Johnston, Burks, Beckham, Smith-Schuster, Atwell, Agholor, Shorter, Thornton, Gray
TE- Mayer, Okonkwo, Waller, Dulcich, Brevin Jordan

Picks-
2024: 1.09, 2.02, 2.08, 2.11, 2.12, 2.13, 3.02, 3.06, 3.08, 3.10
2025: All of my picks (1st-4th), + an additional 1st, 3rd, and 4th
2026: All of my picks (1st-4th)

Trying to sell Herbert for more picks.
Understanding that his value is depressed right now what is the best that you would expect to get for him prior to this league’s rookie draft???

Any other moves that you would consider making?
I have never taken over a rebuild that was in such a condition and I’m actually kind of excited to get it going. 🙂

In that format, he'd be someone I build around. I think Herbert, Reed, and Mayer given the TE premium are your best players. If you're moving Herbert you need a top 4 pick + a solid player IMO, and even then you're taking on a lot of risk... Daniels and Maye both have warts. Herbert is essentially perfect for you, unlikely to produce a ton this season but still a cornerstone player.

You’ve snagged 10 picks in the upcoming draft, all in the first 3 rounds - good job. And you already have some extra picks for next year. I know those early picks are enticing, but I would sit tight with Herbert, Reed, and Mayer for now. Consider some package deals come league draft. In season, you should be able to shop a couple lower-tier-but-injury-fill-ins to contenders?

I’d be fine moving herbert or anyone if the price was right, but as you mentioned his value is deflated so I would likely hold because I still consider him a mid/late 1st round startup pick.

Well if Herbert's value is depressed then why sell low? I'm holding him and building around him. Next I'm hoping Waller returns, has a few good games early and selling him off asap. I may try and package 1.9 and 2.8 to try and move up in the first if possible and see if someone gets rookie fever and sell off 2.2 for a future 1st. Everyone knows your "open for business" so see what offers come your way. Good luck.

I’m building my team around Herbert. He’s young enough that he’s still gonna be the face of your franchise when it’s time to compete.
