1.04 or 1.06 + 2025 (mid?) 1st

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.04 or 1.06 + 2025 (mid?) 1st

Postby Gazzerk » Sat Apr 20, 2024 5:16 pm

1QB Non TEP start 7 0.5 PPR. I recently posted about a trade where I send my 1.04 and 1.07 away for the 1.03, 1.13 and 2.03. I’m strongly considering that move. However, I was just offered 1.06 and a likely mid 2025 1st for my 1.04 by a very TE needy team. That feels like a very strong return to move back 2 spots and I don’t have a 2025 1st as of right now. Move up or move back??

i would move up. after 1.3 the draft takes a good sized drop down to bowers imo at 4 and then falls sharply after that. i do really like bowers depending on where he gets drafted but i think guaranteeing yourself one of those wr is the best move here.

one thing i would do though is look at the guys that have 1.1 and 1.2 and see about offering them a similar deal to move up even more so than 1.3

I would 100% accept this new offer. As tantalizing as getting a top-3 pick is -- and as good as the top 3 WRs look -- I don't think WR3 in 2024 is an absolute slam-dunk. Yes, I'd rather have that player than the one you'll get at 1.06. And I don't think the likelihood of success is that much greater with the player at 1.06 (and I'm sure the bust factor isn't that much higher). Picking up a 2025 1st is a monster value win here -- plus you keep 1.07, etc.

This is just such a strong offer. No way I'd pass it up.

This for me. If that 1st projects early, I wouldn’t hate the trade back either.

I'd take it. Unless I can get to 2. I don't believe Odunze is in the same tier of WR, personally.

And depending on how your draft shakes out, I would continue on the same path. If you’re not enamored with the player at 1.06, put it on the block to trade back and stack extra draft capital. There are quite a few WR2/3 candidates this year, so you could end up with a decent one and a few more picks.
