Superflex Moving Picks

Postby wickerkat1212 » Sat Apr 20, 2024 11:59 am

12-man, 1 ppr, Superflex, TEP leaguge. #2 Superflex in signature.
A guy I've been going back and forth with just got a bunch of picks.
I have the 1.02 (probably Harrison), 1.06 (probably Bowers), 2.02, and 2.04.
Been trying to get his 2.03 but to no avail. I'd love to get three picks in a row.
Would you move back a little to get more picks?
What about 2.02 for 2.05 + 2.06?
I'd then have 2.04, 2.05, 2.06 instead of 2.02 + 2.04.
I can't see a way to get his 2.03.

He has:

Year 2024 Draft Pick 2.03
Year 2024 Draft Pick 2.05
Year 2024 Draft Pick 2.06
Year 2024 Draft Pick 2.11
Year 2024 Draft Pick 3.03
Year 2024 Draft Pick 4.03

Thoughts?

It's hard to judge before draft but I think there will likely be a tier break somewhere in the 2.02-2.06 range. If it's 2.02 I wouldn't move the 2.02 for 2.05 and 2.06, if its 2.06 give me 2.05 and 2.06.

I'll have a better idea on Friday evening.

I don't see the benefit of trading back to have three picks in a row vs. drafting with the higher picks that are not back to back. :wtf:

I agree with this. Earlier the pick the more you control your destiny. It’s nice having back to back picks but let that happen naturally

Yeah, I've been holding onto that 2.02, thinking it'll have a lot of value. I haven't quite set my top 14 yet, but good point.

I have 2.03 (pick 16 given toilet bowl extra pick). I currently have the tier break at 2.02 (which could move either way after the draft). My plan is to see how the actual draft plays out. Trading up tends to be pricier during the league draft - so I may throw out some trade offers before our draft starts if I’m still hoping to go that route. Otherwise, best IMO to sit tight, see how the league draft shakes out, and trade back (or for veterans) if I’m not excited about my pick. Flexibility and adaptability have been critical for me in the past.

You are trading the 2.02 for 2.05 and 2.06.

I do this and don’t blink. Everyone is going to have the first 6 players rated differently and the want you REALLY want at 2 might be there at 5, and if not there will be another person in the same tier. It’s an area loaded with good RB and WR prospects.

Think Tre Benson vs Jalen Wright and Blake.

I’d probably just wait until you’re on the clock and see who’s available. That’s boring and may leave you with your pants down if it’s a clear tier break, but more likely someone will be in love with a player on the board and they’ll make a move for the pick.

Not sure what the allure of 3 picks in a row is.
Picks are picks, wherever they be.
I can't make any sense of moving back just so I can get 3 picks in a row.

very much agree with this. i wouldnt move back at all but at very least you wait till you are otc and if you have several players in the same tier available then maybe go for it

It's moving back to get an EXTRA PICK only a few spots later.

Would you rather have the 2.02 +2.04 or the 2.04, 2.05, and 2.06.

The only reason I mentioned three picks in a row is that say it comes down to Pearsall, or Mitchell, or Nix. I get an extra pick in that range and then can decide if I want to go WR-WR-WR or QB-RB-WR or whatever.

Lots of good advice here though. You're right—OTC I can say, yes I'll move back two picks, and get an extra pick, because I have five guys here rated all about the same.

Well this is simple, the 2.04, 2.05, and 2.06, but who would give up the 2.05 and 2.06 for the 2.02????

Somebody who has a lot of picks and wants to move up to the 2.02. There is a drop-off right around there.
