2.02 or two 25 2nds

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2.02 or two 25 2nds

Postby BabyChark23 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 2:29 pm

12 team PPR 2QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 3WRT
QB: Herbert, TLaw, Levis, Stidham
RB: Gibbs, Javonte, Rhamondre, Keaton Mitchell
WR: G Wilson, Aiyuk, Nico, Tee Higgins, Demario, Douglas
TE: Njoku, Hockenson

Picks: 1.02, 1.08, 2.02, all future picks + extra 25 2nd

Obviously, not locking in who I’m picking until I see landing spots and DC, but tentatively planning to take MHJR at 1.02 and just BPA at 1.08 (Bowers/RB1/any surprise fallers from top 7). I feel like my team is pretty solid even without taking the 2.02 pick. So I’ve been exploring trade offers to move it for future picks or a Derrick Henry package to throw my RB room over the top. What does everyone think of sending the 2.02 for two 25 2nds? There’s a guy that went all in for 2023 and now wants back into the draft. He has two 25 2nds. One is from a rebuilder who I suspect will be top 6 again in 25, but his roster is in a weird place where he could surprise. The other pick is likely mid to back half. My thought is that moving for these picks would let me make moves more easily in season once people move into rebuild mode, and I know what I need to get over the top.

I'd wait until I was on the clock and try to flip it for a 2025 1st. No reason to make that deal now.

I would rather have the two 25 2nds very easily on a competitive team. In season, you'll definitely need to make some moves, and those are key assets to do it.

Menace2010 suggests getting a 2025 1st when OTC. Obviously, if that's an option, I'd do that instead. But I'm pretty skeptical of the likelihood of that happening. Since I think two 25 2nds is a great, great offer, I'm happily taking it.

Always! Why I'm saying 2.02. When it's time and no one you want is there, pretty good chance you'll get a package like this

I agree on holding for now and trying to get more, especially if you don'tknow what the picks are. Worst-case scenario you just pick at 14.

I wonder how long each team has to pick on the leagues where folks can make trades *and* pick like that while on the clock. :surprised:

Our league does a slow draft. Each pick is on an 8 hour clock. It’s great to give you time to make trades or deliberate between a few players. Draft still only generally takes a couple days to wrap up, since most people don’t use anywhere close to the full clock.

All my leagues do slow drafts 4 or 8 hour clocks. agreeing on a time with 12 people making wise bleep remarks is brutal in home leagues, and 12 people in different time zones in internet leagues is nearly impossible. Plus slow drafts are way more fun.

Going into year 13 in two leagues and we use longer clocks, 24 hours in the 1st and 12 in the 2nd and 3rd. Usually done within a week and a half even with this setting, but it helps early as folks knock the rust off after a lengthy summer/off season. The biggest benefit IMO, is trading. In these leagues we average around 10-15 trades per year (ballpark), and of them 10-12 go down during the draft. It's a great forcing function... The other 3 or so usually right before the trade deadline.

think id lock up the pair of 25 2nds and have 4 to work with. i dont feel anywhere near as confident you will get a first for the pick straight up, might not hurt to wait but i also dont want the deal to go away so im torn a little and leaning take the pair
