Should I make this trade

Postby SVF96 » Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:42 am

Trade involves team 1 in my signature. How does everyone feel about Higgins compared to Waddle? Me personally it seems like waddle has the higher ceiling but I am nervous about moving Higgins and he’s then traded to a spot where he could have the WR1 role to himself.

Also I know it’s not “right” to project out future picks but the 25 second I’d be receiving is from a manager who has had the 1.01 two years in a row and it would be a shock if it was anything later than the 2.03 in 2025.

As always thanks for the advice!

The Waddle side looks better to me. If this has been offered to you I would accept.

Agree. Lots of uncertainty with Higgins, Swift in RBBC. I'd do it ASAP.

While I agree with everyone about the value being on the Waddle side, my question is what are your plans for RB if you trade away Swift? I know he's hasn't lived up to the hype and has a lot of question marks but if you trade him away in a start 3RB league, you're left with ONLY 3 RBs and no draft picks to add depth through the draft.

That would be my only hesitation to making that trade... and the reason I voted for the Higgins/Swift side, not because of value but because of the trade's affect on your roster.

Good point. I didn't see the 3 RB minimum.

It's a fair consideration. I don't think Swift is going to put up huge production, and I'd be confident that the combo of 3.01 + early 2025 2nd would be enough (if needed) to at least a replacement-level player (or two) for Swift.

I'd definitely take the Higgins side. Not really close as I'd prefer the known assets to unknown. A 3rd of any kind is unlikely to do much for you, so you're really hoping a 2nd is greater than Swift, and value of Swift is definitely more than 1 future 2nd. Waddle has more value than Higgins, but Tee is a great player. If he stays in Cinny he'll produce, and if he gets traded to a good location as the #1 there, I'm excited for that.

Higgins side easily for me.
12 Team Non-PPR, 6pt TDs-22' R/U, 23' R/U
1QB, 2RBs, 2WRs, 1TE, 2Flex (W/R/T), 1K, 1DST

TE: T. Kelce, C. Kmet, H. Henry, M. Gesicki, T. Kraft
K: J. Tucker
D/ST: Baltimore, Jacksonville
Taxi Squad: R. Ali

12 Team .5 PPR, 6pt TDs
1QB, 2RBs, 2WRs, 1TE, 3Flex (W/R/T), 1K, 1DST
QB: J. Love, J. Herbert
RB: S. Barkley, I. Pacheco, D. Singletary, D. Pierce, E. Gray
WR: C. Olave, J. Waddle, D. J. Moore, T. Higgins, C. Watson, J. Downs, J. Dotson, R. Shaheed, A. T. Perry

That's why I posed the question to the OP. Personally, I would make the trade because I believe the Waddle side is more valuable. Looking at the construction of his roster, I see that he's got several players with some value that can be dealt with for a better RB option than Swift. I'd probably turn around and try to flip one of his WRs for an RB... but how active a league is to be able to wheel and deal is another consideration.
