Everyone has starry eyes and celebrity worship over JJ but aren’t looking at total roster makeup. My projection is that was a good trade for both.
Uh, yeah on Jefferson. He’s already proven he can put up the best FF WR year in the league, and last year he was still WR5 ppr in ppw despite having half the games he played with Dobbs, Mullens and Hall throwing to him - in those games he still averaged almost 6.5 catches, over 100 yards and 0.4 TDs per game.

He’s a bonafide stud. Not sure how what you got back replaces his single slot performance in your lineup. You could make a solid argument that Jefferson was worth the other side of that trade by himself without Addison involved - and Addison was very sound and productive for a rookie with that collection of misfit toys throwing the football as well.

MARKinMI wrote: Sat Apr 06, 2024 7:13 am I Spent the better part of 2 months trying to trade down, including all of draft day. I have Benson in the same tier as the other WRs that will soon be off the board. His ADP is currently 10, I took him at 8. I can live with that rather than drafting what would be my WR6/7

oh and the actual quote is:

"A bit of a reach here. I like some WRs and a few RBs around this area and chose to take the Top RB on my board. Which is also my team's biggest need."

When all things are equal between positions in a tier I go with need
I mean your first line is "a bit of a reach here" so we are pretty aligned I think. I'm always trying to draft for value and trade for need, just personally. That's how I've managed to best maximise my pick value in the long term over the years, but of course, ymmv.

Very interesting that you were trying to get a trade down done for it for 2 months, but as soon as you took the RB1 it prompted London Fog to trade up immediately to grab RB2 off the board in Jonathan Brooks. Perhaps a bit of gamesmanship there.

The other WR's I was thinking of are off the board now, so it's fine to talk about it. You're hoping you get a good landing spot for Benson with good draft capital - maybe it'll work out for you.

But just in terms of prospect models, WR's that go in the first round rank incredibly highly in terms of pick safety - and I personally think a couple of those guys that were still on the board will be slam-dunk 1st round selections in a few weeks. Just in terms of the idea of this league - I would think you'd want to be going as safe as possible with your high picks, just imo.

Will be fun to watch it work out! Also everyone needs to lay off that trade. Firstly: #NeverVeto. Secondly: This is what rookie fever is all about.

No shaming them for sharing their league and letting us watch an early pre-draft draft. It's great content. 8-)

If Nabers or Odunze had somehow fallen to 1.04 I could see the trade…. but I’m just not a Brian Thomas fan.

I'm with Mark on taking Benson there. I don't watch college so I have no idea (yet) if he's a good prospect, but in any rookie draft, once the NFL draft hits, RBs will land on a team with a need for immediate production, and they'll shoot up the draft board. Maybe they'll be Doug Martin (pre-injuries) or maybe they'll be a Daniel Thomas.

There's been enough disappointing first round WRs in the past few years to lock them in. For every Lamb, there's a Jeudy. For every Jefferson, there's a Reagor. For every Garrett Wilson, there's a Treylon Burks. etc etc.

If I'm on the clock, I'll give 30 to 60 minutes to solicit a tradeback, and if no takers, I'm grabbing my guy and moving on. Or I'm just grabbing him immediately :)

London Fog's draft through the two rounds so far:

1.01 MHJr
1.09 Jonathan Brooks
2.01 Jaylen Wright
2.05 Ricky Pearsall

That dude is absolutely killing it.

What's a slow draft got to do with anything? They've got three weeks to finish before the NFL draft. I encourage all my leagues to do slow drafts to encourage trading.

It was an unnecessary comment about this league. Take away what info you want from these early drafts. I think it's fun to see players getting picked earlier than I anticipated

Ya, the slow comment was an irrelevant low blow and didn’t need to be said - it takes the spotlight away from the real focus, the horrible JJ trade.

Agreed. This ought to be slow, players don’t even have teams yet. Owners need time to evaluate the board and then work trades if they choose to go that way.

If it’s too slow for you, just don’t click on it. It’s their league and their draft. They’re generously sharing it with us.

Agreed. This thread has been unpleasant. It's unfortunate because it's nice to get to see an actual draft. I appreciate it.

X2, I’m surprised with the quantity of negative comments.

I love the real data, and the fact people leave comments for why they drafted xyz. Super cool imo

How is Isaac Guerendo not in the database? I’m not saying he’s a great back, but he’s definitely got more than enough credentials to easily make the list IMO.
