This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moving Brian Robinson

Postby wickerkat1212 » Sat Mar 30, 2024 12:02 pm

12-man, 1 ppr, Superflex #1 in signature, we start qb-rb-rb-wr-wr-wr-te-superfex-flex-k-d.
A guy I've been trying to trade with needs youth for picks.
I was thinking of moving Brian Robinson. I don't like Ekeler there.
I was going to toss in Chris Rodriguez as well.

So, would you be open to moving him or is he a hold?
If I moved him for picks, what should I ask for?

The guy has the 1.04, 1.12, 2.04, 2.09, 2.010.

1. Ask for 1.12? Probably passes.
2. Ask for 2.04? Feels light.
3. Ask for 2.04, 2.08, 2.09? FantasyPros has this -1.4% me / +1.5% him. DLF has this 109 to 405 in my favor.

Thoughts?

My starters are:

Bijan, Kamara

I’m not sure I’d pay the 2.04 for him in this format. It’s probably fair-ish, but I’d have to think hard as a buyer.

Hmm, Robinson was probably around RB 20 last year but still had over 1000 combined yards and 9 TD's. He is still the workhouse and Ekelar is the 3rd down back. With the new and better offense I can see him repeating that, and the mid second round RB is a dart throw. Maybe B Allen is there which is a good comp pick for Robinson. But B Allen might donk. You know what you have. Or maybe J Wright is there and turns into Kamara.

No sure thing you get a 1000 yards and 9 TD's out of the pick. You are gambling for long term upside.

Yeah, I like him, but feel that 2.04 is too little, hoping to find the same guy there, but the three picks is probably too much to ask for.

2.04 is a little lite for him, even in superflex

markets down on him and I like him so he’s a hold/buy for me, no reason to sell low.

Where I own him, I would sell for an early 2nd, but nobody is buying.

Tough call here. As an owner he is a hold for sure now that Gibson is gone but now they added Ekeler. I want to see BRj take control but just not sure he will be allowed to.

Man, I'm fading Robinson at all of these costs. New coaching staff/ownership, team brings in Ekeler, and they have like 6 picks in the top3 rounds.

His ceiling is probably RB #18 for a year or two. His floor is getting James Robinson'd in a few weeks and being nearly worthless.

I'd trade him for any 2nd in a SF league easily.

the kid is pretty good and his main competition is gone, Commanders have so many holes I can't see them going RB this yr or next yr so I'm expecting his best seasons. If I can sneak him off a team for Mid to low 2nd I'm doing it

x3

It's going to take a special BRob fan to give up even the 2.09 for him. I'm sure that guy is out there in some leagues, but I'd guess it's going to be tough to get anything more than 3rd for BRob. No way do I see anyone giving up three 2nds for BRob.

OTOH, if I had BRob, I'd be ok with not selling him cheap and waiting and hoping for a surprisingly good season. No need to sell him for a random 3rd if you think there's a chance he'll have a RB22 season in 2024.

3rd round pick that’s been pretty good, I’m not sure I understand the James Robinson comp?

For the ekeler piece, it’s certainly not ideal but I think it’s pretty clear they intend on a split. Ekeler himself has said he wants a much smaller workload.

I’m surprised there’s any worry about Robinson, seems to be a low ceiling high floor guy to me.
