2025 1st for 2024 1st

I've decided not to keep trying to get the 1.01 pick for this year in my
12-man, 1 ppr, TEP (2 total PPR) Superflex where we start qb-rb-rb-wr-wr-te-superflex-flex-flex-flex.

I got a good suggestion on here about not targeting the 1.01 but instead trying to get into the top 7 or 8.
I have the 1.02, 1.06, 2.02, 2.04 picks.

What is the lowest first round pick you'd take for my 2025 1st (which could be early)?
Would you offer it to any of the top eight picks?
How far down are you willing to go?

I'd love the idea of the 1.05 or 1.07 to get two picks in a row. I have them ranked, for this league as:

1. Williams
2. Harrison (me)
3. Maye
4. Nabers
5. Daniels
6. Bowers (me)
7. Odunze
8. Thomas

KTC has 2025 early pick - 2024 1.06. Which is about what I'm thinking.

Everyone thinks that if you can get the 1.06 for a future 1st, you should do that. Short of a Girl Scout league, that will not happen though.

Oh sorry, I just re-read this, this morning and think I understand what you’re saying. Since you have the 1.02 this year, your 2025 1st should be perceived by others to be early. I wouldn’t make that assessment and don’t think many other owners would either.

I view it with a lot of uncertainty. Your team has some good players and has the 1.02 and 1.06 so there’s a good chance your team improves. You also seem like you might make a lot of moves which increases the chances of improvement. The other issue is we are pretty much at peak value for this year’s rookie picks…after the combine but before the draft. This year’s draft class looks loaded and deep relative to most years. I don’t have a good feel for what next year’s class is like. It could be a dud. So there’s a lot of risk moving a 2024 1st for a 25 not to mention you have to wait a year

There’s likely 4 QBs going in the first round and lots of very good WRs and Bowers. So this pushes more solid non QBs down the board. Where next year could be a year like 2022 when the only one bad QB when in the first round, Kenny Pickett.

If you want to try to do this, I would recommend offering if for the 1.07 and 1.08 and see what happens. If you don’t want to go any later than that then don’t. But I’m viewing the 1.10 this year closer to the 1.06 a lot of years

The 1.08 is where Id start looking at teams I think will have an early 25 1st. For me that is a massive tier drop.

random future first usually only gets you into back half of the first at best unless you got a glaring dumpster fire of a team.

ive traded my future first for 1.12 a bunch but idk how many times ive ever seen a 1 for 1 future first for a current one where the current first was a premium pick (talking many leagues over many years and various formats)

yeppers...discounted and can never tell where the future is really going to lie.

Top 3 WR top 4 QB top TE then there’s a drop. That said, I’d still prefer taking a player in the 1.9 to 1.12 range than to kick the can. Also most years one more sneaks in to the top tier (ex Brooks to Dallas, Thomas to Buf). And yes, cannot predict where the 1st will go. All that said, you might be able to land the 1.9-1.12 but I haven’t seen that trade go down at all.

Just stating where I ended up, in 11th place last year, so I expect the pick next year will be early.

IDK. My hope is that people see my CURRENT pick at 1.02 and think, "I can get a 25 1.02 for a 24 1.04-1.08." IDK if they will feel that way.
