1.01 or package

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.01 or package

Postby Dunville » Wed Mar 20, 2024 12:22 pm

Hi Team 1,

Context:
In talks with owner of 1.01 and he’s keen to overhaul his team to “have a go” this year. He’s shown interest in acquiring, Kamara, Kupp, Keenan and Higgins and re acquiring his 1st. His only true assets are 1.01, Zay Flowers and Pitt’s. I own his 1st next year.

My team won the Championship last year and I dominated the league, even with JJ and Kupp’s injury. I am however short a couple of difference makers this time (Hock’s bad injury and Donald retiring at DT)

Do I offer 3 or 4 of the assets above and drastically reduce my title chances for his 1.01?

The value I think would be in my favour but also feel context matters somewhat.

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks

I like offering Higgins because he is a volatile asset where the other players you sort of know what to expect for 2024. I’d offer Higgins and Allen and hope the names get you to the even bigger name MHJ.

Kamara, Keenan, and Kupp are all at the age that they are year to year propositions. Don't go in so cheap as to insult the guy (per the above, I'd be annoyed if you sent an offer of Higgins plus Keenan, like 🙄 c'mon). If he's seriously willing to take on all of those aging assets, I'd make a move. You can add older/productive players throughout the season for picks or younger players you add this draft. I'd be ecstatic to land a cornerstone player for any of those 3 even if I had to add a 2nd to get it across the finish line.

This is my thing. He approached me about those guys so it caught me off guard I know the “value” is heavily with the 1.01. Also it’s why I included context of my team. I’d love to add MHJ but I know giving up them 4 would probably stop me being a contender

I’d get rid of them and start infusing youth to keep the dynasty going. I’ll take the short term loss for the long term gain
