Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
The Pacheco owner sent an offer of Pacheco for Levis and 2.5. I'll be taking Williams as my 3rd QB in the draft, so I can afford to lose Levis. Wondering what the community thinks.

Slight overpay for Pacheco but certainly in the realm of “a go get you guy” type of deal. You shouldn’t have any issues making this deal

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
It’s SF so I’m going to require the QB here
Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
Too pricey for my blood.
Especially since the Pacheco manager sent the offer, I think the pick needs to be removed. I can see arguing that Pacheco is slightly more valuable than Levis but that should be the cost of getting the deal done by the manager who initiated it.
I'm for sure passing on the deal as is.

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
x2 reality is hes a starting QB with decent draft capital that was ok as a rookie and the team upgraded the weapons for him to throw to, not counting what they do in the drafttstafford wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 4:38 am Too pricey for my blood.

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
If you desperately need a QB in a SF for 2024, I could see choosing the Levis side.
Every other situation, I choose Pacheco.
Levis is giving all kinds of Fields/MacJones/Pickett vibes. He's an NFL starting QB who doesn't look competent for the job. I understand holding on to any potential starting QB in SF, and that's always a strong motivator. I also think Pacheco:Levis might be peak value for Levis when we look back from DEC2024.

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
So like, in SF Levis has got to be worth WT LEAST a couple 2nds, right? Possibly a late 1 like most starting QBs tend to. Then you’ve got the 2.5 So…
2+2+2 OR 1+2 for Pacheco. So what does ‘not close’ mean to you, another 2? Two 2nds? Now the deal for you looks better as
1+2+2+2 for Pacheco?
Nahhhhhh

I'm not BlackAdam but ... my opinion of Levis vs Pacheco is not based on the consensus in-a-vacuum value as of right now. In dynasty, I always try to project where I think each player will be valued in 6months or 12months.SoftwoodGrampian wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 3:58 amSo like, in SF Levis has got to be worth WT LEAST a couple 2nds, right? I don't think Levis will be a long-term starter in the NFL. That means that once he loses his starting QB job, he's worth almost nothing in fantasy football. Even for the 2024 season, Levis is not a player I want to count on to be my QB2 in a SF league. What is MacJones worth now? What is Fields worth now? What is Ridder worth now? QBs like that are worth *something* to a QB-needy team desperate for a QB right now, but they have dangerous longer term vaule.
OTOH, Pacheco is a very good RB option and just turned in a low-end RB1 season. For a team looking to contend in 2024, Pacheco is a RB that can help you win. And I'd bet he has a good chance to continue to be useful in 2025. With any RB, it's unwise to project out further than 2-3 seasons, so I'll leave it there.
Levis value is directly tied to him being able to hold onto his starting job. Any fantasy manager who think Levis will be a 5yr or 10yr starter in TENN should value him above Pacheco. Personally, I'll be surprised if Levis is the starter in TENN for the entire 2024, but I know most people will disagree with that.

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
I think you are particularly low on Levis. I expect him to be a hot name in redraft for late round QBBC. If that's the case, then adding 2.05 is too much.Anteaters wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 4:09 amI'm not BlackAdam but ... my opinion of Levis vs Pacheco is not based on the consensus in-a-vacuum value as of right now. Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
It's possible. Very possible this is my over-hot take on Levis.
If Levis starts for TENN even for only three seasons, he'll be a decent option in SF. It's possible TENN keeps him as the 2025 starter even if Levis turns in a bad 2024 season -- but because he doesn't have much draft capital tied up in him, I could also see the team being relatively quick to pull the plug on him if he fails to improve.

Certainly a valid opinion but based on this opinion you seem to be baking in 0% chance of success in order to say it’s Pacheco not close right? Pacheco is worth maybe a late 1st? which was Softwoods point, even if you devalue Levis to a late 2 it’s still not too far off, which is why everyone is saying at Levis’ market value this is an overpayAnteaters wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 4:09 amI'm not BlackAdam but ... my opinion of Levis vs Pacheco is not based on the consensus in-a-vacuum value as of right now. It's not even April yet. I'm not convinced WL will even finish the year out as the starter, so to me, no, he's not currently worth at LEAST a couple 2nds.SoftwoodGrampian wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 3:58 amSo like, in SF Levis has got to be worth WT LEAST a couple 2nds, right? To me he's maybe worth a 2nd after the NFL Draft confirms he will, in fact, be given the chance to start and stay the starter for the 2024 season. If Tenn drafts a day one or two guy next month I'm not trading squat for him.
Either way, I'm good with keeping Pacheco and not gambling on WL.

Re: Pacheco for Levis and 2.05
Correct. I think there is an almost zero percent chance Levis is the answer at QB for TENN. I can't say whether he'll last 4 games, or 8 games, or the entire season. However, I believe Tennessee will definitely have a starting QB-not-named-Levis by opening day 2025. The new head coach did not chose Levis, and is not going to risk his job by insisting on being tied to a non-1st round QB who is not lighting things up. Levis has a very short leash. If the team loses and he looks blah, GM Ron Carthon will hit the reset button.Mtt33 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 5:07 amCertainly a valid opinion but based on this opinion you seem to be baking in 0% chance of success in order to say it’s Pacheco not close right?
