Should I go for Swift and Jacobs?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I go for Swift and Jacobs?

Postby Krissi24 » Wed Mar 13, 2024 1:46 pm

12 TEAM 0,5PPR Starting QB, 2RB, 4WR, TE, FLEX

I am have been in the process of making my team younger after I won the championship last year, with a lot of "older" guys which I have sold.

This is for my "home league" which has been running for 7 years now and will be running for many years to come.
I know that I have to bring in RBs at some point, but I think my best chance is to get some proven players, as I am not too high on this years RB class. On the other hand I think that I could get som good WRs in the early 2nds. (Our league is shifting to SF in 2027 and QBs are already being drafted early)

Should I accept any of these offers:

I give 2.01
I get Swift

I give DJ Moore
I get Jacobs + 2x 25 2nd (early and mid)

I give DK Metcalf
I get Jacobs + 25 2nd (Likely early)

My starters:
QB: Richardson, Wilson
RB: Chuba Hubbard, Kareem Hunt
WR: ARSB, DK, DJ Moore, Michael Thomas, Metchie,
TE: Laporta, Brevin Jordan, Schultz

2024 picks: 2.01, 2.02, 2.03, 2.04, 2.05
2025 picks: 1st, 2nd
2026 picks: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

I give 2.01
I get Swift
This one i would consider for sure

I give DJ Moore
I get Jacobs + 2x 25 2nd (early and mid)
Torn on this one. DJM is your WR2 really and you basically need 4WR's

I give DK Metcalf
I get Jacobs + 25 2nd (Likely early)
Might do this one and maybe you get lucky on adding another WR down the road.

None of these are slam dunks.

But I'm on board with trades 1 and maybe 3, mainly because you need to take some shots at RB.

Worth noting that I'm higher on Swift than most

I like trade 1.

I like the WRs in the other trades too much to consider moving them. Add Swift for what looks like a decent price then grab another RB in Round 2.

I’m okay with all of these moves. I would much rather take #3 than #2. DK is a freak but I think he is what he is for fantasy at this point and DJM is likely about to get an elite QB prospect to grow with. Jacobs is a great buy right now with the contract he was given and that Packers offense is going to continue to be very good.

I absolutely love the offer for Swift and I’d snap accept that. Teams simply don’t invest in the RB position like that anymore and they just gave him a big bag for an RB. That contract tells me he is going to be the guy in that backfield and he’ll be featured heavily. Caleb’s rookie year could be a little sluggish but his receiving chops should help counter that a bit. Chicago has also always been a very capable rushing offense. Fields likely moving on also takes away the QB rushing vulture aspect because Caleb is not that same type of runner. He’s a play extender and very athletic but he’s not the guy out there taking too many designed runs. I’d easily give up the 2.01 for a potential stud RB for the next 2-3 years but it’s also going to rely on how you feel about Swift.
