SF - trade for 1.02

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

SF - trade for 1.02

Postby henry1jg » Wed Mar 06, 2024 7:43 am

I want to put together a fair offer for 1.02 in a 14 team SF (no TE Premium) and if possible, not totally gut myself.

I have 1.01, 1.08, 1.12, 1.14, 2.01, 2.02, 2.08, 3.01, 3.02, & 4.02. I also have all my picks next yr (I will be likely in the 3-6 range) and an extra 1st from a likely playoff team

The guy w 1.02 only has that pick, and has posted that he wants more picks this yr and next in exchange for it

I was thinking of starting with 1.12, 1.14, 2.08, and my 1st next yr

Thoughts? What would you offer? What would it take if you had the pick?

Thanks for the insight!

Where’s your 1st next year project? Judging by all your picks I’m guessing you have lots of youth/rebuilding jt of sorts in which case I’d try to get this done without including your 25 1st.

I anticipate being in the 3-6 range. I would love to keep my 1st next year, but I also understand I'm asking for the 1.02 in what appears to be a class.with a lot of high end talent

What would you suggest I offer?

I’d start with 1.08, 1.14, and the other teams 2025 1st. Don’t think it’ll be enough, but I’d think should start dialogue

I don't think the 1.12+1.14 is good enough to be the foundation of a deal to get the 1.02. Going 1.08+1.12+something is a much more equitable starting offer. Starting with 1.12+1.14+? seems like too little to be taken seriously.

Agree here. If the first taste I get is a 1.12+1.14 core then I may just move on. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s insulting but it’s damn close. Feels like 10 dimes for a dollar. To be honest, I’d be a little surprised if the 1.08+1.12+1.14 would even get it done. I don’t think it would. I think you’re going to have to give 1.08+1.12+2025 1st at a minimum. Maybe you’re able to swap the 1.12 for 1.14 but that’s about it I would think. I’m in a 1QB so it is a bit different but I offered 1.04+1.07 for 1.02 and they didn’t even blink. I told them we could revisit later because I wasn’t even sure where to go from there. Top 3 in 1QB and top 6-7 in SF are very highly valued right now and you’re paying through the nose if you want a taste. I would actually recommend trying to upsell the value of your likely early 2025 1st to see if you can get away with just the 1.08 + 2025 1st for 1.02 but that’s a tall task.

In SF, feels like there is a big drop off after that 7th or 8th pick. I'm guessing you'll have to include 1.8 to get the conversation started. I'd be tempted to offer 1.8, 1.12, 1.14 and both those early seconds. That 1.2 spot is very attractive this year and is going to cost you.

24 Picks - 2.13
25 Picks - (4) 1st rounders, (2) 2nd rounders, (2) 3rd rounders
