What to do at 2.01

Postby Fatmike007 » Sun Feb 11, 2024 10:56 am

10 team 1 QB Dynasty
1Qb 2Rb 3Wr 1Te 2flex 1Def
My team QB Mahomes RBs Gibbs Achane Harris
WR Jefferson Aiyuk Ridley Sutton Dionte Johnson
TE Engram Jake Ferguson
I have 1.01 2.01 2.07
I'm going MHJ 1.01
Is 2.01 too early for TE Sanders out of Texas? Or should I look WR again? Should I consider RB at 2.01 with what I have or wait til 2.07 for Sanders or RB?

Be patient and open minded and wait for others in front of you to make mistakes. Some of them are almost certain to do so, and then when opportunity knocks make sure you answer the door. IMO at that point you’re looking at BPA. Even if it’s redundant on your team you can recover more value in being right and trading either an existing or a new asset than you’ll do by passing by talent to reach for need. Or if someone is willing to overpay because you’re not seeing a definitive plus addition for your team then deal it.

Just my opinion, and I’m certain you’ll get plenty others. At that point I’m open minded and letting the draft come to me.

I have 2.01 this year as well in my main SF league - from an opportune trade last draft.

I am almost 90% sure it's going to be a WR, although I may talk myself into a QB there if there's a non-big 3 guy I end up liking.

I'll be using my 2.06 on any WR or RB that drops.

When in doubt: take the position that the class is being called "extremely strong" for. This is a great WR class. No need to overthink it.

Welcome to the forum - glad to have you!

At 2.01 you should go BPA (best player available). I’m a proponent to ALWAYS go BPA, and your team has no specific needs, so likely grab your favorite WR still on the board at that point. Or if CW somehow falls to you take him there.

On a different note, this post should go in the ‘Team Advice’ forum. No love lost, just letting you know where to post these in the future.

Again, welcome to the forum!

You can send that 2.01 for a very similar, proven TE. Grab Geodert for that price.

While you may not be comfortable putting together your big board, you can at least do the top 13 players. In one Superflex I have the 1.02, 1.06, and 2.02. So I'm really looking at all of the variables for the top six, and getting my rankings in order. For 2.01 it's still too early, but this is a DEEP draft class. For instance, I had Adanoi as my guy there, but that may be changing. In Superflex TEP I would for sure be looking at Sanders there if he's even still around. There are three elite TEs, and another very good 8-11 wrs. We have the top 3 qbs, then JJM, and after him Nix/Penix. TEs is Bowers and then Sanders, and then IDK yet. So start putting together your list of the top 20 and mock draft. See who keeps falling to you, who you'd LOVE to get. And then on draft day see what happens.

Welcome to the forum!

At the risk of being redundant I try and avoid slotting players into spots before a draft. Anytime I am using a premium pick (pick 2.01 is that in a 10 teamer) I am taking BPA almost in every scenario. Position is almost irrelevant for me. You get better in fantasy by drafting the best players.

It's 1 QB...and 10 teams...so number 11 overall.

At 2.01 I'm tempted by Trey Benson, or best WR available. It's still pretty early, combine and draft will shift all of these values around.
12 TM PPR / TEP / 1 QB / Start 8
