Barkley's value as a Charger

If Saquon signs with the Chargers, would you pursue him? I feel like being paired with Herbert would be an immediate boost to Barkley's value. He is 26 years old right now. He's clearly a better rusher than Ekeler and offers good usage in the passing game. I'm considering going after him, but wanted to bounce this idea off you guys. Thanks

Cap can always be maneuvered. But as of today the Chargers are in the bottom 5 of the NFL as far as current 2024 cap projections go. They’re over 40mil over the cap.

I wouldn’t want to make a move for Barkley assuming that’s where he ends up. I don’t see the Chargers spending at RB.

Now, if cap gets worked out, he does somehow go there…sure, I think he’d be pretty valuable for a couple years.

Barkley is a solid back as is. Seems like landing in San Diego would be better than where he is, but who knows if that happens. Is that an option or is that just your hope?

I saw a post on twitter that Harbaugh's top priority is to sign Barkley. Cap is certainly an issue and none of this matters until a deal is done. But just wanted to explore it.

It was on twitter this morning that Barkley is Harbaugh's top priority to add. And he historically has been a run-first coach.

I do agree that the cap can be manipulated so the chargers would have to get Uber creative if they want him. I do think if he goes there, it will be fun to see.

As a Barkley manager this would make me very happy.

Question - can NYG franchise him again? Or did he get a no-tag clause in that sort of awful deal he did?
