A Re-match.

TBH, I think it will be a better game.

Andy Reid would have skewered Dan Campbell.

This will be a much better game, IMO.

The NFL gets what they want.

I think that the 49ers clearly have the better skill position players on offense, and there's obviously no debate on who the better QB is.

Both coaches are fantastic offensive minds.

Let's talk.

niners D has been sleeping lately.
purdy has regressed a lot compared to the first half of the regular season, not sure why.
niners have come back twice in a row, which is uncharacteristic for shanahan, although he's probably saving his best choke for when it matters most (again).

chiefs look better on defense than on offense, for a change. but they have issues in the run game and that could prove to be fatal.

chiefs take an early lead, punt-fest the rest of the way, some mild controversy towards the end just to wake folks up.

Chiefs run defense is suspect, and Baltimore decided to only throw it, in a game that was close the whole time. Imo the ravens over thought it and gave it away, I don’t see SF doing that. SF will stay committed to the run which will be tough for kc to stop.

SFs Def hadn’t been good in sometime so I expect the chiefs to also move the ball quite easily, and of course they have mahomes. I think this will be a game where there are a lot of sustained long drives, so not necessarily super high scoring. In the end I feel like KC pulls it out cuz Mahomesis just so good, but I am hoping that SF wins so we see a new champ (even though SF has been close, they haven’t won in a while)

I really wanted ravens and lions to win to breath some new life, but what can you do

My gut tells me that SF wins this one. I think they come super strong with the run (like stated above)... and when KC adjusts to pack the box to stop it is when Kittle/Deebo/Aiyuk feast downfield and with broken tackles.

If the Chiefs win this one it will be because of the Defense (as stated by someone else above), not because they're some offensive juggernaut. And if they do win it... this will probably be the 'better' win because of how they completely switched things up starting 2 years ago to go 'strong D/bargain bin on O'. That takes guts to do in Mahomes' prime... and if they pull it out then all the kudo's to them for having the guts and ability to pull it off.

There will be some incongruous situation where an out of the ordinary player steps up to make a big difference in the outcome. When we get to playoffs/superbowl this is often the case, from my observation. Who will it be?

Most important, how many people are going to play the drinking game where you take a shot every time they show Taylor Swift, and what do we think the impact will be on ERs by the 2nd half? This could be way tougher than playing Bob (for all the old guys out there).

Honest to god, I couldn't do it. I have to work on Monday, and I'm afraid that little game would drain my bottle.

I'd probably end up like Will Ferrell in Old School. "We're Streaking!"

The Purdy narratives the day after should be fun.

If they lose, the blame is on him not being good enough.
If he wins, the credit goes to Shanahan, the roster, and he's merely along for the ride.

Crazy that the Niners haven't won a superbowl since the 1994 season. They are long overdue. I won't be surprised if they win, but I won't be surprised if the Chiefs win as well. I like the Niners pieces better this time compared to last time they met the chiefs in the Superbowl.....they upgraded from the #2 RB in 2023 (Mostert) to the #1 RB (CMC).

I think the Chiefs D is legit. Kansas City wins a low scoring game, something like 23-20.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

He can just blame Vegas for the NFL being rigged, it's in Vegas, after all. Taylor Swift......he's got some outs.

I don’t know. Usually when he wins, the 49ers fans start fitting him for his HoF jacket. It’s only when he does poorly that the “system qb” talk starts.

I’m more looking forward to a few days after the Super Bowl when we can stop hearing the nonstop Purdy talk.
