I was not a Stroud believer, I passed on him at 1.05 and 1.06 in two rookie drafts, and only took him in this startup because he fell to 4.08, which I thought his value was too good to pass up.
TLaw was pick 1.06 in the startup, my pick was 1.08, and I took Chase, and Watson in round 2.

Now my QB room in this league is TLaw and Russ Wilson. :wall:
A lot of people didn't believe. Stroud went undrafted in my 12-team salary cap, 1QB 3 round mixed rookie/devy. Got lucky and won him in our FA auction. Oddly (and lucky again) on the same team also won Puka in the FA auction after he went undrafted. We all miss on a lot of this stuff. The goals is just to miss a little less than your leaguemates!!

1qb league, normal scoring with TE premium

For whatever reason in this league it is impossible to get qbs and I had Goff/purdy as my starters going in. Was a contender and really wasn’t sure about my qbs, as this is what has held me back the past few years. Tried all off-season to get a top option with no luck. After week 1 with Lamar’s down game I was able to sell two late round gems who had good week 1s for Lamar:

Sent Puka+purdy
Received Lamar

At the time this looked like a steal. Rookie 5th round wr+ww qb for a top end qb!

Purdy scored really close to Lamar and Puka has become a top 7 dynasty wr? Yeah not loving it anymore lol

You made the right move at the time. That's all I worry about.

In a superflex best ball dynasty league, I was feeling good at QB with Allen, Goff, and fields. I needed a RB in the draft and at 1.3 I was set to take Gibbs. But I ended up moving 1.3 and my first next year for 1.1 (bijan) and my 2024 2nd. Lol so far I would rather have Gibbs than Bijan, although time will tell. I’m glad my trade partner stuck the landing on his side as he got stroud

Took Stroud at 1.03? That's terrific and unusual. Well done by him.

Here's another bad one:

For team 2, in August, I wanted to save a couple of bucks in cap space. So I traded a player who was low-cost but not someone I was too bullish on for a minimum-salary player to drop.

The guy I traded away? Trey McBride. Oops.

Yeah I took Bijan at 1.1. ARich went 1.3. He wanted ARich but “settled” for stroud at 1.3. And he got laporta in the 2nd. TE premium as well

Before 2023 I traded Skyy Moore and a 2025 1st (owned by the guy who had the 2nd highest 2022 regular season points) for Cooper Kupp. The original owner of that 2025 1 has since unexpectedly entered a tank and it's likely to be a Top 3 pick. Still think it was the right move at the time but trading future picks can get real hairy

I can't remember if I had a share of Kyren and dropped him way back when or only bid a very low amount on a share that was on the WW. Either way, what a mistake.

I traded Puka(and Hollywood Brown) after week 1 for a 1st. Was pumped about getting a first from a team that didn't look like a contender. Then he traded for Kyren and Rice came around.

Turned out to be the 1.11. Not a good return for the WR6ish+.

Probably the biggest trade I've made (highest number of relevant pieces) was a 3 way trade on July 12 2020 coming off of a 2nd place finish.

Me:
Give: 1.07 (OTC, was Jerry Jeudy)
Receive: Lev Bell (new starter for the Jets), 1.10, 2.02

Team 2:
Give: Philip Lindsay, 2.02
Receive: Julio

Team 3 (coming off 1st place):
Give: Julio, Lev Bell, 1.10
Receive: Lindsay, 1.07

Team 3 got fleeced giving up prime-ish Julio/Lev Bell to move up 3 spots with a rotational rb.
In the end, 1.10 became Vaughn, 2.02 became Ruggs, Julio was washed, Bell was washed, Lindsay was nothing, and Jeudy never became anything.

The alternative trades I was considering would've netted me the pick that got one of Jefferson, Pittman, Aiyuk, or Higgins and a WR2 or RB2 on top of it

Right, me too. And much like Coach Reid, will they keep the core together until they DON'T win it all?

This is an old one but hurt at the time,

I was going for it at the time and Brees was peaking and was about 36 at the time, felt like end was near. I wanted to go younger and get a Stud, I had picked up David Johnson in the 2nd round of rookie draft, as well as L Murray was a free agent sophomore.

Sent Brees, DJ, L Murray and B Cooks
For
Rodgers, VJax and 2nd

Brees Ended up having a prolonged peak while Rodgers had two of next three years end with injuries, VJax was washed and DJ, L Murray and B Cooks had solid careers (DJ and Murray had monster years a year later) and are still in the league.

Hey but I did win the chip on the back of Rodgers getting over 400 yards against the jets in an overtime game on championship weekend.
