What to offer on top of Etienne for Breece Hall?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to offer on top of Etienne for Breece Hall?

Postby Randomguess » Thu Jan 11, 2024 10:43 am

1 QB league, 12 man, PPR
The guy that won the league has Breece, JT and Kyren, but not great at QB(Tua, Kyler, Baker). I'd like to upgrade from Etienne to Hall by offering a package with TLaw.
My team:
QB: TLaw
RB: Bijan, Etienne, R White, Spears, Z White, Spiller
WR: Lamb, D Smith, J Williams, scrubs
TE: Laporta, Muth

My 2024 picks are: 1.01, 1.02, 1.04, 1.05, 1.06, 1.08, 1.10
I'm currently negotiating to get Lamar by packaging one those later picks + Spears or Z White, so I'm fine moving on from Lawrence and I'd like to sell him at this point because I don't think he's the league-winner I had hoped he would be. Hall is a piece that I would love to add and am willing to overpay if I need to. I think Etienne is a very good player. I just think that Breece is in a tier above him. I had thought about offering Etienne + Lawrence + 2025 2nd for Hall and Kyler Murray. It's even on keeptradecut, but I'm not sure if that'd be enough. Looking for any advice if anybody sees an angle that might make this trade happen. Thanks.

I don't think your offer will be even close even in a 1 QB format. Etienne is very up and down and it will take the right manager to think he is close to Hall. I may be way off here, but I am guessing the 1.04 or 1.05 will be needed on top of Etienne. Etienne's floor is pretty low and Hall should elite upside this year with not even being fully healthy. I am not sure Etienne is elite.

I don't think you're far off by guessing 1.04 or 1.05 would be needed. I thought about starting with offering Etienne, Lawrence and 1.08 for Hall and Kyler and seeing what he says.

Would you include the Lawrence for Murray part of the trade?

id be trying hall and a 2nd for etn and my latest first. you cant act like you dont have a pile of picks to work with, everyone else can see it and will want em. kyler to tlaw swap has very low appeal to most, or just isnt an area of importance. that guy likely isnt worried about starting murray. think the tlaw murray stuff muddies more than helps
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

I agree with this. First, not every manager will think Kyler-to-TLaw is an upgrade. You're operating from the assumption the other manager would rather have TLaw over Murray. There's probably a 50% chance you're mistaken in that assumption.

I would focus on the RBs first and foremost.

FWIW, I know Breece may carry more "value" than Etienne, but I'm not certain Breece will substantially outscore Etienne over the next two seasons. Go get your guy, but personally I wouldn't be thrilled trading ETN+1.04 for Breece. I'd rather keep ETN, take MHJr with 1.01, and spend two of your next three picks on rookie RBs. At least one of your rookie RBs should end up with a good role.
TEAM 1:

I would hold Lawrence, but likely a preference.

With all the picks you have I’d rather see if trading a pick or two for Hall is an option… perhaps dangling the 1.02 with a later pick for Hall?

Seems unlikely a manager with Kyler/Tua would want T.Law, but who knows?

As a Hall manager, I'd need a good first on top of him to consider trading for ETN. Hall is going to be a top-4 pick in PPR redraft next season. ETN won't be a first round pick.

I think you're going to have to pay up if you want to make this move.

I don’t know that any rookie RBs should grace the top of this coming draft, especially now that Henderson declined to enter. With such a stacked WR class and the picks you own, I’d explore adding D. Smith or someone of that caliber to Etienne to see if that moves the needle. You may have to add a mid-1st, but using picks to add MHJ and Nabers to your WR corps along with a few shots in the late 1st keeps your WRs strong and adds “your guy” at RB.
