12 TM, SF League

Gave:
1.07
2025 1st
2025 2nd
3.09

Received:
Joe Burrow
Jaylen Waddle

My team has been borderline contending for a few years, hoping to make playoffs this year. QB was my biggest need and didn’t want to roll the dice on whatever QB woulda been at 1.07

Give: 1.01 + mid 2025 2nd
Get: 1.02 + mid/late 2025 1st

I wanted to pick MHJ at 1.01, but I knew that 1.02 desperately wanted Caleb, and was hoping I take MHJ at 1.01 and Caleb fell to him at 1.02.
So I still get MHJ at 1.02, and add on my fourth 2025 1st, on top of my five 2024 1sts.
Definitely prefer the side getting the 1.02 in that one. It's better than any offer I've gotten on the 1.01.
Just right place, right time. I KNEW that 1.02 wanted Caleb desperately.
So a couple weeks ago, I mentioned to him that 1.03 was kicking tires with me on a trade up.

Then, 2 days ago I offered him 1.01 + 2.06 + a 25 2nd for 1.02 + 1.07.

He countered with the 1.01 + mid 2nd for 1.02 + mid/late 1st, I just accepted.

I got lucky, I would have taken MHJ at the 1.01, but now I can take him at 1.02.
1.03 is where it gets tricky, and I might have to trade up from 1.06 to 1.03 to get what I want.

Yeah, this guy is completely gutting his team for some odd reason.

My starters are pretty good now, but my depth at QB/RB is not great.

Burrow
Carr

Etienne
Walker

Lamb
Waddle
DK
DJM
Aiyuk

LaPorta
Pitts

Anyway, this (below) is the trade he did before mine, which I thought was even more absurd. Which is why I sent him an offer for Burrow/Waddle

Guy I traded with Gave:
Garrett Wilson
Brock Purdy

Other guy Gave:
1.06
2.06
2025 2nd

I'm not really sure what he's doing. Rookie fever run amok maybe.

Pretty one sided. Not a lot of reasoning required.

Yeah I’ve tried jumping on the crazy train before many times in many different leagues but it’s like they immediately come to their senses after the first terrible deal… didn’t work until now

I've seen this happen a lot too. I'm theorizing a bit...but, I think that's why it's important to keep solid relationships with your leaguemates. The "come to senses" can sometimes be that they just liked the other manager more than you and were more willing to deal with them, even if it meant taking a bit of a value loss. Something as small as scoffing/laughing at a bad offer can be the difference in whether you get future deals done with someone
