Here is a fun one. A place to post why who you are named what you are named. Usually there is a story behind all of us and our moniker/user names represent it.


The Troll: about 13 years ago in a long time friends redraft league (still going strong), one member called me a Troll because of my tenacious prowess for trades. It was meant as an insult but I took it as a complement and went with it. We are all great friends when it comes to FF, I’m forever named the Troll.

Damn only 13 years ago!? my forum name comes from a story nearly 40 years ago.

You see when two people love each other very much, they sometimes do this special hug. Now occasionally when they do this special hug one of them gets pregnant and a baby grows in their belly, and after about nine months out pops a new child (no the storck does not deliver a baby, what a horrible story). My parents happened to name me with a first name that begins with the letter "A" and our last name is "Bloom" so here we are.

Somehow just stuck with using that for most of my usernames across my leagues.

LOL hilarious.

Wickerkat comes from my time living in Wicker Park, IL—a cool neighborhood here in Chicago. The Bucktown / Wicker Park area, at one point, was the third largest artistic community in the nation, behind Greenwich Village and Haight Asbury. I'm a writer. So I was, in my best Sammy Davis, Jr. voice, "A wicker cat, man." Why the "k"? I think a million years ago on AOL I was wickerkat@aol.com because the wickercat@aol.com name was taken. LOL.

1212 is just one of the street addresses where I lived.

Back in school during english class (i'm from germany) my teacher always put names of students who weren't behaving on the board on the "list of bad ferrets" and as an adolescent I was a regular. That somehow stuck for nearly 20 years now.

nothing to do with ferrets, but your nickname always reminds me of the bloodhound gang's the bad touch.

I'm just one of those annoying fans of The Office that has seen the show in its entirety hundreds of times. That show was (and still is, to some degree) my escape from reality before fantasy football assumed that role.

Prison Mike also provided a good floating head to use as my avatar. Most of my fantasy football team names are Office related - (Scranton Stranglers, Knights of the Night, Kevin and the Zits, Threat Level Midnight, Scott's Tots, Scrantonicity II, The Dementors, etc).

Most of the time, it's only funny to me. And I'm okay with that.
