Frank Reich very well might deserve to be fired, but doing this late in the season is idiotic & a sign of poor ownership. How can it possibly help Young too have to deal with a new coach while still trying to adjust to playing in the NFL?
Ask TLaw how much it helps to be coached by a terrible coach even one more game. Some coaches bring negative energy to the learning process. Bryce would not have been helped by spending another day with Reich, much less two more months. Why spend another 6 weeks learning stuff you'll have to unlearn in the offseason?
What did Reich do to you? He didn't overpay to move up to pick Bryce Young. That was ownership. He didn't trade away all of Young's potential skill players, that was ownership. Much like in Indy, Reich can be faulted for allowing himself to have no control over decisions (much like Saleh in NY), but he was in a garbage situation. The Panthers don't have a 2024 1st. This team is a long way from the coaching staff mattering in my opinion.
Agree with you Murph. I’m no Reich fan but he sure was handed a bag of crap to coach. The GM is scapegoating him to save his own ***. Moving forward it should be interesting to see who is going to be willing to take the HC position and try to move this trainwreck forward.

I mean the Panthers "traded" Caleb Williams (likely #1 2024 pick), DJ Moore, Jalen Carter and Tank Dell (projecting who was available in vacated picks) and a 2025 2nd to take Bryce Young instead of CJ Stroud, but let's blame the coach.......

I'll say it again, Lovie Smith was fired for having the greatest win in Texans history (assuming they had Young above Stroud as well)

There are heavy rumors the GM is next. Still, Reich has been objectively awful and it does nothing for them to continue any further.

Dobbs is fantasy MVP material. No way they bench him
I can't tell if this is a joke or not. I'd honestly be looking for a plan B, on your team in Sig, though. If you're making the playoffs.
I'm with you..we saw some great production from Dobbs in a fill-in role thanks to his rushing and ability to make off script plays, but I wouldn't want to be counting on him going into the fantasy playoffs or as my starting QB in the NFL.

Why would the Vikings care about fantasy football over evaluating a young QB they drafted? Also, this just in.

I wish it was a joke. I'm on plan D with Dobbs. Trade deadline is past and nothing good on waivers.

I was more trying to understand the reasoning. Him being a FF MVP has no bearing on the Vikings decision making to bench him or not. They don't care about FF, that was what confused me.

That legit made me laugh out loud.

Reich didn't do anything to me. I just don't think he is a good coach. He looked decent when he had a hall of fame QB. Do you know what he did with him? He won one wildcard playoff game. Besides that, the guy is an overmatched head coach who is overmatched as an OC and should restrict himself to being a QB coach. He's not a bad QB coach. He's an incompetent playcalling OC, and a joke as a head coach.

Reich didn't get the Carolina job because he's a good head coach. He got the Carolina job because he's a "good interview." Whatever the heck that means. What it means is he looks the part and he fits what a dumb owner thinks he wants his head coach to look like.

It wouldn't have been so bad if a stupid owner of a team I don't give a crap about was the guy who hired Reich. Why couldn't it have been Chicago or Washington? Then I could just laugh about it. Instead, Reich gets hired by a team I'd like to see win and I knew from day one there wouldn't be much winning with a young QB under Reich. But even I didn't think it would be this awful.

He might be a good guy, but I hate him as a head coach. Ptuiii!

You probably have to start whichever MIN QB gets the nod. JJ likely going to be back and Hall was off to a nice game before the concussion.

The coach, QB coach and others wanted Stroud. Tepper wanted Bryce, and insisted on it, that's the narrative since before a game was ever played. Now he's firing everyone who wanted the other guy. Regardless of Reich being a good coach or not, it's clear as day Stroud is the better QB to adjust to the NFL game. He's bigger, has a better arm, is more mobile, and for all the talk of processing, he seems to be doing quite all right there.

Young was always a bad pick at 1.01. You don't trade that kind of capital for a small, short QB that has a below average arm and average mobility. There was no upside to the pick. It was a disaster from day 1, and most people knew it.
