Totally agree that "value" and personal ranks can and should be different. Also that roster construction impacts preferences. These are the reasons we make trades after all.

When folks post questions about dealing the 1.01 or 1.02, those conversations are all about value but under the context of CW/MHJR. There's probably no way around that given neither of them are in the NFL. We don't know their landing spots, etc.

I stood on the position this off-season that basically no teams ought to own the 1.01 (Bijan). The value of the pick was so off the chart. Rebuilders could do better moving it for WRs, picks, etc. Contenders could tier down and get a productive back plus other assets. I'm beginning to feel the same way about the 1.01/1.02 in this coming draft. For example I price checked MHJR in my devy league and the manager said he likely wouldn't take a combo of G.Wilson/M.Nabers. (note: I wouldn't have paid that either). Point being the value for these picks may be sky high.

My way of answering the question as asked (how do I have MHJR ranked), I think about what I'd do in a start-up. I'm for taking JJ/Chase/Lamb/AJB over MHJR. At that point, I'm starting to think about it.

I'd easily take the first tier (JJ/Chase) as well as tier 2 (CD/AJB) but after that I think I'd probably roll the dice with MHJ. He's more talented than Wilson and they both might have bad teams, while age pushes Hill out of those top 2 tiers. I'd easily rank him over the next group of Olave/Waddle/St. Brown/etc. because talent alone will push him ahead.

People have said he's the best talent since Calvin but let's not forget AJ Green/Julio when they came out and both of those guys were studs in their own right for close to a decade. That type of production is key and even with mediocre QB play AJG still put up top 5 seasons for a good 5-year stretch.

for me in a dynasty start up, MHJ would prob slot in after my top 6 of JJ, Chase, AJB, CeeDee, GW, ARSB

TE: MAndrews - Kraft
'24: 1.1, 1.7, 2.1, 2.6, 2.10, 3.1, 3.10
‘25: 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 3rds

2nd year DFF
SF - PPR - 12t - start10
QB: TLaw - Purdy - Goff
RB: Chubb - D Montgomery - D Singletary - A Mattison - K Miller - J Hill

What's his ranking if he goes to NE or NYG?

I'd say WR5, maybe 6 depending on how you feel about Amon-Ra.

Jefferson
Chase
Lamb
AJ Brown

He could end up in a bad landing spot, but whatever team drafts him will definitely be making more of a concerned effort to get him the ball consistently. The volume will be there.

1.JJ
2.Chase
3. Lamb
4.GW
5. AJB
6. MHJr
7. ARSB
8. Hill
9. Olave
10. Waddle

I'd rather have AJB over MHJr. He's already tied to Hurts for several more years.

Do I really want MHJr catching passes from Danny Dimes or Mac Jones? Gulp. That's a tough pill to swallow.

Tier 2: Lamb
Tier 3: AJB, ARSB, GW, MHJr
Tier 4: Tyreek, Olave, Waddle

We all want to say he's basically outside of our top 5, but come rookie draft time I can almost guarantee you if I offer AJB or ARSB or whoever for him it's going to be rejected. Let's not delude ourselves as to where this is going.

100% accurate.
Just like people forget that Bijan was a 1st round startup pick in 2023 12 team SF leagues, as RB1 off the board.

MHJ value is greater than Bijan value, no way MHJ is dropping into the 2nd round of startup drafts in 12 team SF leagues in 2024.
Once people see the 6'4 205 pound MHJ run a 4.35 40 at the combine, rankings will change.

Bijan was the best RB prospect to come out since Saquon in 2018.
MHJ is the best WR prospect to come out since at least Julio Jones in 2011.

Just to be clear AJ Green was the best WR prospect in '11.
(Kidding around - this was a huge debate back in the day for those old enough to remember)
