Rest of season TE targets

Postby olmansmith » Mon Nov 06, 2023 9:44 am

As teams make the playoff push and trade deadlines are approaching, I imagine many have questionable TE situations (as always). Especially those who lost Waller or Goedert this past week.

Who are your TE trade for targets this year? Some that I'm consider trading for after losing Waller (i.e. might toss a 3rd for hill who's on a tanking team):

More premium but maybe trade for-able:
- Cole Kmet (probably overpriced imo)
- Kincaid

Late 2nd / random 3rd:
- Dalton Schultz
- Ferguson (might be hard after this week)
- Taysom Hill
- Njoku

Really deep:
- Tyler Conklin (has a really easy schedule vs TE starting week 10 but ... gross)

You may be able to get Otton fairly cheap. He's not going to set the world on fire, but you won't have to pay anything crazy to get him and he doesn't put up complete zeros often.

Taysom Hill should be your target if he's TE eligible in your league and you're contending.

He's the #4 TE in fantasy right now, standard scoring. (#6 in 0.5 ppr)

(God he's annoying.)

I think if you're wanting to spend, Kincaid looks like the real oil. I doubt any owner is giving him up though.

In a deep 16 team league, I'll have a bye week problem in Week 13 with both Hock and Kmet on bye.

I've known this for a while and picked up Granson earlier this year, but he hasn't been doing much lately.

In what could be a critical game for my team, do any of these options inspire confidence:

Jelani Woods
Irv Smith
Adam Trautman
Mo Alie-Cox
Jeremy Ruckert

Yikes, I'm starting to think I might lose that week. Lol.
"Marathon Square" - 16 team full PPR league with 24 player roster. Keep 16 per year indefinitely, draft 8. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team DST
QB: Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson
RB: Travis Etienne, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller, Jaleel McLaughlin, Sean Tucker, Deuce Vaughn
WR: A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Tutu Atwell, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Hodgins, Justin Shorter
TE: T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, Kylen Granson
K: Didn't make the playoffs in 2023  , and don't usually hold one in the offseason
Team DST: Cowboys, Lions

Picks:
2024: 1.06, 2.06, 4.06, 5.06, 6.06, 7.06, 8.06

Disclaimer: My one and only Championship in this league was way back in 2011. Therefore, take my replies with the appropriate grain of salt.

I just lost Goedert on a strong top-heavy contender (7-1, only loss came by a point).

I'm torn between just riding it out with Fant/Woods and going shopping. Problem is I don't have much depth or picks to shop around with. I can get Everett for (x2) '24 4ths (in my inbox now), probably my only real option
Team 1:
12-team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Herbert, Kyler, Baker, Jimmy G, Mariota, DTR
RB: Taylor, Saquon, Javonte, Conner, C.Evans, TDP
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Olave, Diggs, Diontae, Hollywood, MT, Shaheed
TE: Engram, Woods, Kraft
'24 picks: 1.08, 3.05

Team 2:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Mahomes, Allen, Russ
RB: Breece, JT, Swift, Javonte, Mostert, Zamir
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Nico, Kupp, Hollywood, Kirk, MT
TE: Pitts, Njoku, Woods
'24 picks: 4.01

Team 3:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Hurts, Dak, Stafford, Z.Wilson, DTR
RB: Saquon, Swift, Achane, Kamara, Ford
WR: Jefferson, AJB, ARSB, Nico, Diontae, OBJ
TE: Goedert, Njoku, Fant, Woods
'24 picks: 4.08, 4.12, 5.12

PPR fantasy points over the last four weeks:

Travis Kelce: 73.5
Taysom Hill: 72.1

That's a fair price and call me an Everett fan. But:

Won't that leave you with no picks in that league as well? Think you have to save those bullets for a bigger emergency.

Yeah agreed he's def the best of those targets for price/value. just debating riding Schultz the rest of the way, my brain can't wrap itself around what Taysom is :wall:

Fair points. I'm not sure honestly. I think he's the best of my options, without knowing Jelani's timeline. Fant is always a threat to goose you.

And yes it would leave me with no picks. Problem with saving the bullets for a bigger emergency is that they aren't high value bullets lol. If I could buy something better with them now I probably would, emergency or not. Just don't think anyone is interested in them

Maybe I should find the Jonnu manager, at least he might be have a random blow-up week

I have a team that will be 17-1 after tonight, but lost Waller AND Goedert this weekend.
Only other TE on my bench is Otton, who isn't terrible.
Though now regretting that I just threw Cole Kmet into a trade as a toss in before week 1.

This league is not TEP, and seems to value TE's very lightly, perhaps because we have to start 11 players, but only 1 TE.

Anyway, I just traded away Waller + my 24 1st, which should be late 1st for Kelce today.
Kelce owner put him OTB last week, when he decided that 2023 was not his year.

In another league, 14 team SF TEP PPR start 10, I just lost Goedert, and I am currently 9-0.
Back-up TE is Gerald Everett, haven't decided what move to make yet.

Kincaid is going to continue his recent pace. Knox is on IR and the next few Ds they play are horrific against TEs.
