I've watched his passes a bit more today now that I saw all 22. Obviously mentioned the large amount of check downs in a prior post, but its not an awful decision to give to Henry/Spears as opposed to watching Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore try to run routes and get open. I remembered why this offense is so bad. Hopkins was a huge factor though, OPI or not. But moving on to some other key plays.

That near 40 yarder on the sideline was so close to Burks. Led him out a tad too far, but that's close to another big play.

That 20 yarder to the right was a nice throw to Chig, but he drops it with no defender within 10 yards. That thing goes for at least 35.

He had a nice touch throw to Henry in the flat for a 1st down. And another later on that was a nice chunk. The short TD to Hopkins was a nice pass across the middle in stride. I also laughed at how bad the safety played it, but we'll take it.

The 2 other 40 yard misses probably shouldn't have been thrown, but he misses wide/far and not to the defense. Arm strength is not a concern

Have to think we will see some big play regression. Some INT on these double coverage throws. Needs to be a balance and not all or nothing though. But maybe he gets some more of this intermediate stuff to work with Chig/Burks. Hopkins is very well alive, not sure about the others though still

Let's remember Jordan Love put up similar stat lines early this season and has fallen off precipitously.
After a solid post Why did you flip and start Hating on him? :D
lol

The one positive to Levis game vs Love’s early season games…at least Levis was completing more than 50% of his passes.

Looking through all the plays I'm expecting some regression this week.

Solid debut but nothing spectacular; However the arm talent is real.. very surprised he slipped into the 2nd round and that TD to westbrook was nasty.

Bad news Levis fans. In my only 1 QB league I picked up Levis last night.

QBs on roster: Murray, Richardson, fields, Pickett and now Levis.

I'm not saying he will get injured, I'm just saying if he doesn't it would greatly surprise me.

He had some injury issues in college as well…

On a different note, heard some talking heads say that only one other rookie QB has ever had 4 TDs and zero interceptions in their NFL debut. That rookie was Marcus Mariota, who was also on the Titans and also wore #8.

Sure, but did Mariota eat bananas with the peel on? Didn't think so

2 1sts are rookie numbers. Gotta bump it up to at least 3 1sts

That interception at the end was bad. I get he had to throw a Hail Mary with the clock winding down, but he had two other receivers coming open in the end zone, and he threw it to the guy who was double teamed. He also had another opportunity to score right before the Henry TD, but he didn’t see Hopkins getting open.

I thought he made some really good throws to show what kind of arm talent he has. Also some bad throws.

All in all, for his 2nd career start, on the road, on a short week…combine with a banged up OL and a good pass rush…I thought he did pretty well for himself.

I’m not ready to completely buy in yet, but he’s exceeded my expectations so far (although they were admittedly low).
