Go for Jefferson? Realistic?

Hello everyone,

In my 16-team Dynasty (Team in Sig) a team has started 1-6 and goes for rebuild.
He even would sell Jefferson for the right price. I would like to go for him but don't know, if I can get there.
I started 5-2 and have chances for POs. So my first idea was:

1st (hopefully late)
3rd (late as well)
3rd (from other team, probably Mid)
-Pitts

I have no 2nds in 2024, so I don't think this is nearly enough.
I like Pitts but with LaPorta im looking good there. Jeudy would be of no interest, I believe.
Could go with picks in 2025 or maybe Achane? RBs are worth gold in this league, so I would miss Achane but could get the turn here.

But with my team, is it good to trade away more players? Would it hurt my build to much?
Besides RB I'm pretty happy with this team.

I don't think you can move Achane this year and still hope to push for a title, but I would still make the move for Jefferson if you can. If Achane + a 1st is somehow enough for Jefferson, it's a great deal for you long term.

It's always going to be costly to acquire the best player in FF. Doing so will almost surely hurt your chances to win the next few weeks. I think the right folks to be buying JJ are those out of contention - like the manager in your league who is willing to sell him . . .

Maybe offer Achane/DJM and see what kind of response you get. Other manager shouldn't be too bothered by Achane being out since they are out of contention.

So I don't think you are a true title contender if you are starting Achane(I) and Spears/Warren as your RB1 and RB2. Definitely a potential playoff team due to your strength elsewhere though. Then again I see it's a deep IDP league so that may be what I'm not seeing.

Anyway, if you can trade for Jefferson it's worth it. I just offered Achane, 2024 1stx2, and 2025 2ndx2. Even that the guy is having to spend quite some time considering it. But JJ in that setup long term, Id love having JJ.

I'm fine selling Achane, but it definitely hurts your chances now. See if you can cash in on Pitts having a good week or two...maybe Pitts plus one of your WRs? Then you keep achane and you can still sell your 1st for another true RB2. I like LaPorta way better than Pitts at this point. Dude looks like the real deal.

Yeah, the RB-Room is the point BUT many teams have the same problem (with one or two who have 2 RB1 on the team) so it works out most of the time
Plus the IDP. They contribute a lot each week and can make the difference. (Last week got 20 points from Garrett alone)

Offering one of the WR (Jeudy, DKM) was the idea but why should he settle with one of them by giving up his best WR.
Maybe someone younger like Downs.

I also like LaPorta a lot more so thats why I was thinking of Pitts. And Picks will be, what he is desiring.
But thanks for the other insights. I, too, think, going for JJ is worth it!

I agree with this. Every piece needs to be substantial.

He asks for at least 2 1st. So my 1st in 2024 and 2025.
And then additional players.

So I think i would have to go with:
1st 2024
1st 2025
Pitts (or maybe Achane).
