Agreed on both points. But he was higher than this pre-season. I think a legit question in SF is T.Law or Stroud. Even if it's still T.Law, the fact that it's a question says a lot about the change in value to both players.

It's hard for fantasy to move on to a new evaluation of value. TLaw was supposed to be the next steady T5QB year to year. He's good, but it seems like his level is "much" lower. Just like with Jeudy and EMoore, managers want to cling to an earlier premature consensus valuation.

I don't think there is any doubt Stroud will be a better fantasy QB than Trevor for the next few seasons. Stroud just looks better in every aspect. That assessment comes from a diehard TLaw guy. I like TLaw's talent, but Stroud is simply better in real life and in fantasy.

Mayer quietly seeing an uptick across the board. 5/75 this week. A majority of that came in 1st quarter with Jimmy G. Only 1 catch for 6 yards with Hoyer

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm guessing the Patriots goal receiving wise was to take away Adams, and as a result Mayer was a little more free than usual. That being said, Vegas seemed very willing to take what they could get with Mayer.

When he had the ball he looked good.

Michael Mayer finally played a lot this week. Was on the field for 57 (81%) of the snaps. Austin Hooper played 24 (34%).

Mayer got 6 targets for 5 catches & 75 yards to Hooper's 2 targets, 2 catches for 19 yards.

Let's hope this trend continues for Mayer.

Yup, week 5 was the 1st time he surpassed Hooper in snaps and it only became a bigger gap this week

so I played Quintin Morris last night

I gambled on Kincaid being a go, as my other TEs are lacking. mulled over waiver wire guys all day and never got motivated to pull the trigger on anyone. had to pivot about 8pm last night and sold myself on Morris probably getting a look or two since BUF is running so much 12 personnel this season. crossed my fingers and clenched my cheeks. laughed out loud when he got his only target of the season for a broken play TD in the 4th. now I'm down 1 point in my match up, opponent is done and I have CeeDee tonight.

Managers are reacting too slowly to Stroud. I own him in my one SF league and took him as my QB3. No one has inquired. I guess they might think I'm unwilling to move him but I think it's that people aren't bought in.

Can’t speak to what managers are thinking in your leagues, but I haven’t seen anyone making moves for him in any of my leagues either. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that people realize that he’s not gonna get moved from whatever roster he’s on. I don’t think it’s that people are reacting slowly. I think that at this point people realize they missed out on him, and that they won’t be able to acquire the new hot commodity at any kind of reasonable price.

Like the Mayer shout--was going to mention him

Some other less talked developments about storylines for dynasty purposes:

It's not happening with Sean Tucker. Thought he was a cheap high upside bet but Vaughn passing him is a death blow

Ditto for Rashod Bateman--at least in Baltimore. As a 1st round WR he will get a shot elsewhere unlike Tucker so still has a shot at a solid career but injuries have taken a toll on him and Lamar's style doesn't really fit with his

Trey Palmer with a very quiet 7 target game (same as Godwin) thanks to Baker missing him on deep balls like 3 times. Major volume uptick after low yardage/high TD rate performances to this point

Since his goose egg week 1 Drake London has been a solid WR2 even with Ridder sucking and looks like the clear alpha in Atlanta

Next week might just be JSN's breakout I think. The ADOT took off and he put up his best yardage total of the year

15 touch game for Kareem Hunt. Though Ford still led the backfield, we might have a messy committee forming

Douglas needs an asterisk because he was ruled out due to injury.

Good to see the post-bye week usage increase for JSN. Buy low window is closing now. Hope to see a bump tonight for QJ.

I don’t see the logic behind this. If they viewed him as the current backup, he’d have been the #2 and not emergency QB wouldn’t he? If he’s viewed as the starter if Jimmy is out, I don’t see the point in labeling him emergency QB so he can’t play.
Correct. Hoyer would likely start.
Last time Jimmy missed a game, AOC was the starter and played well enough. Don't overthink this.
I'm not. I've been a Raiders fan my whole life. O'Connell didn't play well enough. Not for a team trying to win a football game. For a guy in his first NFL start, sure. Hoyer is the current QB2 on their depth chart. They gave AOC a shot, they obviously didn't like what they saw that much. They just won a very emotional game with Hoyer playing fairly well. They are 3-3, and face a road game on the East Coast. I fully expect McDaniels to start Hoyer. He has the experience in the system, and is 2nd on the depth chart. There isn't really a good argument for AOC being the starter, unless Josh just wants to see him play more, but he's coaching for his job this year, I don't see him going down with a turnover prone rookie. If Hoyer isn't playing well, and they are losing, I could see him going to AOC as a spark, without as much pressure as being the starter, next week. It is Josh though, so who knows.

"played well enough" by what metrics? RB targets?
he barely had time to breathe after the snap, but he didn't look good.

By spark, I assume you’re talking about starting the dumpster fire?
