Roquan Smith LB Value in picks/offense

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Roquan Smith LB Value in picks/offense

Postby CooperCrush » Wed Oct 04, 2023 7:30 am

I’m still figuring out IDP valuations compared to picks and offensive players. Would a mid/late 1st and 3rd be enough or too much to move Roquan. Thinking about rebuilding, but not sure what Roquans value is.

I know this should go in IDP Forum, but there is not much traffic there.

Johnson has a lot of potential and is a favorable depth chart but I do think a backend mid/late 1st is a fair offer. The 3rd is not huge value but is a decent add in IDP to get the deal over the top. If its not enough, I would move on.

Your post was very clear, but my mind was elsewhere, sorry ha ha! I am not very well versed in IDP. How does Smith score in reference to other assets in the late 1st range? Do big IDP scorers stack up well with top 15-20 WRs/RBs?

He is averaging about 18pts a game. That puts him in the Swift, ARSB, Bijan, Kelce area for scoring this year.

If this is where your IDP scoring has him, I would say he is a late 1st, early 2nd. Not saying those offensive players aren’t worth more that he’s scoring close to, but there are a lot of LB producers to go around, so usually depresses value a bit.

Agreed here too. IDP players seem easier to find on the wire and pop up. I would hold here.

IDP value usually depends on how many IDP starters compared to offense, and also IDP scoring.
In Full IDP leagues, where defensive starters match offensive starters, and using IDP123 scoring, then yes, I would say that Roquan is worth a mid 1st and a 3rd.

Most of my leagues are full IDP, start 11 offense/ 11 IDP, or 10 offense/ 10 IDP.
All of my IDP leagues use IDP123 scoring except for one which still uses the older, lower scoring IDP settings, which makes IDP values decline.
