I think Stafford, the king-maker, will be around three more years so I guess it's a matter of will Puka be elite for three more years and then fall off or stay a stud? Is Nabers as good a player? IDK.
How do you see that as a positive move? Do you expect Nabers to be a top 5 FF WR his rookie year? At the very best it’s a lateral move IMO, and that’s if the rookie unknown turns in a Nacua-like rookie year - unless like I said before that you see last year as Nacua’s apex.
Just checking the temperature on Puka being a Stafford made WR. I looked up Stafford/retirement and seems he wants to play three more years at least so I'll take this Puka performance over MAYBE Nabers being this. I have SOME concern that Puka won't perform nearly as well without Stafford, but that may be down the road a bit, AND I can trade Puka then if I feel I need to, and he'll still be a top asset.

Could also be sometime this year. I prefer Nabers over Puka

I want to see where Nabers lands. A lot of people have him as high as Harrison, some even ABOVE. So, for me to be able to double-dip with the two best WR in the draft would be exciting.

I love going back to page 1 of this thread and reading the comments & "insight". Crazy how reality shattered all perceptions :). I got him in 4 of my 8 dynasty leagues last year & also had him in 2 of my 3 redrafters in 2023. I was just hoping for peak Rams Robert Woods production, I had no idea he would do what he did. No complaints.

In both of my leagues the leaguewinner had Puka, obviously not a coincidence.

So crazy to watch where he went. I draft anywhere from the day after the NFL draft to the week before the NFL season. I only got one share but he was a flier late in the 4th round.

Mine too. He absolutely supercharged any contender he landed on last year.

Yup I won 1 dynasty lineup league, 1 dynasty best ball league, and 1 redrafter last year. All 3 teams had Puka.

Another Puka share got me to 2nd place in another dynasty bestball. Another share got me to the playoffs. And in my other redraft league, early in the season I traded Puka/Flowers for Kyren/Cooper. That trade worked well for my team but I lost a close playoff game even though Kyren was solid.

Also at the midpoint of last year's season, I offered the worst team in the league Puka and 3 1st round picks (turned out to be 1.3, 1.8, 1.12) for Jamar Chase and his first (which I knew would be the 1.1). He declined luckily. Had Chase been in my lineup in week 17, I would've lost in the championship game by 2 points

Interesting that even though Puka had a historic season, he really wasn't setting the world on fire in terms of overall separation.

Image

I think this just goes back to show how important the absurd volume and McVay's sytem were to really maximize specifically what he's good at. He's not CeeDee Lamb or Garrett Wilson, who you could've really put wherever and gotten the same outcome.

Not to say he's overrated or anything, but it's just something to keep perspective of what he is as a player. I think the same thing applies to Cooper Kupp, where they both really needed this scheme to become what they are.

I remember dinging Kupp after his breakout because of his lack of separation and higher zone win rates. Blamed the scheme, Stafford, etc.

I'm not going to do the same mistake with Puka, but would be keeping tabs on Stafford's health if I owned Puka
