Mattison trade

Hi all,

Guy in my league wants Mattison and I'm looking to firesell my old bleep team to load up on picks. This year the guy had the 1.04 pick, but improved via draft, and may end up with the 1.06-1.08 next year. With that in mind, am I out of bounds to ask for a 1st and 3rd for Mattison?

Thanks for the advice! I think I will ask for his first and third for my Mattison and 4th and see what he says. I'd hate to pick swap my third, because while I was second in points last year, by fireselling, my picks should be higher than normal.

just start with the 1 and 3. The 4th shouldn't affect his decision at all and it's nice to build # of assets during a rebuild, meaning trade 1 get 2, trade 3 get 4, etc.

A 1st straight up for Mattison is fair value at this point. We don't know if he will or can be a workhorse or how he will do with being the guy for more than a game or two. If you are looking to cash out and don't want to gamble on a value increase, a 1st is max value right now.

I haven’t seen Mattison go for a single 1st yet. So start there perhaps?

I think a mid first is pretty fair value for him. You should be able to land 1st's (and more) for Chubb and Adams. Jones has value, but it's lowered until we see the offense with Love. I'm dealing everyone on your roster and build it all back up. Good luck.

Thanks all. He doesn't think Mattison is worth more than a mid second, no way I sell that low. This league is filled with boomers that overvalue their own stuff way too much. I think letting him glow up a game or two might make it an easier sell. Would you wait to deal some of those other aging stars in season? Right now it seems people have draft fever with pick values. Or they want to trade me meaningless middle aged role players.

This would be in line with what I see people saying. People are valuing players like Austin Ekeler at a single 1st so there’s no way in H that Mattison is worth that. People just won’t pay it, a hold or move on for market situation.

As an older wiser boomer, I think it is incredibly foolish to trade a valuable 24 1st for an unproven back with an RB2 ceiling if all goes right. Pretty sure the first 10 guys in next years draft are way more valuable than that and then you get to guys like Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards, who will be way better prospects than Mattison, who very well might be replaced in 2024.

Last month during our draft, I traded 1.10 for Mattison if that helps. I felt good about getting him for a backend first.

Everyone keeps acting like next year's draft is God's gift to fantasy, I guess I need to do more research to see why the 20th player taken is instantly better than a 3 down RB now. I don't think there are enough spots on NFL rosters left up for grabs to feed that many prospects but who knows.

Do you think it's worth bundling him with say, Kirk for a mid 1st? I just can't seem to break into the first round and I am needing to stockpile picks to make a run at 1.01 or 1.02, if it's even possible.

People say this every single year lol. The 23’ class was supposed to be one of the best classes we’d ever seen. Now it’s the 24’ class.

I heard 2028 is looking strong.
