Sounds right. Bidding on a guy worth around a 3rd currently but could move up to a 2nd easily. Maybe $600

You know your league though. Go back and look at waivers and see how often a guy waived ends up being worth a 1st? If often then wait. If rare then your entire budget is worth around a 2nd.

How depleted is the QB WW right now? Is EVERY possible QB stashed? I like AOC, but yeah, I was thinking more like $300 but if you really want him dump in half. Do you tend to make a lot of moves? I adopted a new team with a $1000 FAAB and I'm used to $100 so my numbers may be light LOL.

When (not if) jimmy gets hurt or the raiders are eliminated, AOC will start. In SF, that has value to someone.

The QB WW is very depleted right now, but teams have to cut down to 22 players by Sunday Sept 3rd. He’s available in two similar leagues one is start 9, the other start 10, shallow rosters of 22 in season, cut down to 16 after the season, and then no limit after the rookie draft/free agent in May

You know how your year will go as far as FAAB. Depends on how in love you are with AOC. 4th round QB. I still feel like $200-300 might work.

AOC should not be available in most leagues. That’s just poor management imo. He doesn’t necessarily have long term value but he will almost certainly be starting this year unless they pick up Zappe

Will he be good? Doubtful. But people didn’t see Brady, Davis Mills, Minshew or Purdy being worth much either but they all had great sell windows at one point. (One of them even turned into a decent starter)

I'd approach it a little differently.

Let's say we agree that AOC's value is $50. There are really two possibilities:

1) You don't really care if you get him or not, but you see the value so you'll take a flyer; or
2) He's a priority.

In the first case, I'd put in, say, $35ish. If you get him for that, great! You're thrilled to get him at value! And if he goes for $36, no big deal. You didn't really want him but at least someone had to pay something meaningful (and wasted, in your opinion) to stash him.

In the second case, I'd happily pay, say, $55. For the extra few bucks, I wouldn't want to have been right about AOC and then watch him on someone else's team for 1-5 years.

So, I think it's really how you view AOC: nice stash or priority add. (I tilt toward priority add. He looks good, JG almost assuredly will miss some games, and he has Adams, Meyers, and Jacobs to throw to along with a good coach for passing offenses.)
